"However, the hung nature of seats leaves a very big place for manipulation by the President and Agencies. It all depends on how sincere Zardari is to his dead wife and ideology of his party. If he has his own agenda, then Pakistan must brace for the worst type of wheeling dealing"
I fully agree, and this is what I meant when I told zeemax that horse-trading could still take place. I don't know if it was you or someone else who said this but I think that the possibility of a ppp, pml(q) and mqm could form a coalition still exists. Do you think that zardari and musharraf can make a compromise after musharraf called him "scum" in his interview with zemima?
PS: Thanks for your respecting me as an elder but I would also like to earn your respect for what I stand for.

Pakistan has to make the poltical process stronger……. So that future military takeovers are prevented… For that they can take a few tips from Indian democracy…. If pakistan can bring in panchayat raj like in India… must be easy because of the similar social structure.
If democracy is functioning grassroots… then it is tough for the army to takeover

Dear Dost,
Being an elder I respect you in the traditions of our land.
The people of Pakistan have given their verdict in favour of a democratic, non authoritarian, plural, progressive and non fundamentalist Pakistan.
However, the hung nature of seats leaves a very big place for manipulation by the President and Agencies. It all depends on how sincere Zardari is to his dead wife and ideology of his party. If he has his own agenda, then Pakistan must brace for the worst type of wheeling dealing.
Yesterday, I met a very close aide of the President and told him that the President stands to gain if he sticks to the verdict of the people. If he does not, then tough times are ahead. He looked me in the eyes as if I was an ignorant.
This is a nightmare scenario and as I keep saying,
"all my love came to nothing at all"
Pakistan Zindabad!

CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL PAKISTANIS!
Congratulations also to Musharraf for proving us all wrong and not manipulating the results.
Congratulations also to Pakistani and international media for being vigilant against rigging.
Congratulations even to Americans for pushing Musharraf to hold a free election.
Today is the day to celebrate. Who knows what tomorrow has in store.
Aagay, aagay dekhiye hota hai kya?

I do not recall mentioning your support for the judges' eviction nor have I read any post from you in which you had supported their eviction.

#327 hamidm: It doesnt matter if the Chief Justice will be reinstated or not (and there is a good chance he will be, in which case no doubt the first accused criminal to be brought before him will be musharraf). Even if he is not reinstated, the Chief Justice and the other brave judges and lawyers of Pakistan have earned their place in history..while the lotas and "rising suns" you were applauding have been delivered a resounding slap in the face by the Pakistani awam.
Now try saying this (I know it will hurt in the beginning, but it will do you good):
Pakistan Awam Zindabad!!
Ghoonda Gardi Hai, Hai!!

Massaddi Mian:
"....an environment an educator can work at...."
Massaddi Mian deludes to call himself an educator. His proverbial second word is "Go, ______ , yourself". Poor students have all my support.

Hmaidm: The bad news (for mush, lota sheikh rashid, and thou) just keeps on coming. Add this to what I had the honor bringing to your notice earlier today.. :-)
Govt mulling over releasing Iftikhar Chaudhry
SLAMABAD: The federal government started mulling over terminating the detention of the deposed Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammed Chaudhry.
In the light of results of the recent general elections and pledges made by various political parties, the government is pondering to release the deposed Chief Justice.
The consultation process in this connection has set in, as the government has been given the same advice from diverse quarters.
The spokesman of President Musharraf, Rashid Qureshi refused to comment on any such news regarding the release of the deposed chief justice, ‘The government may release him, however, I have no knowledge of the same.’
Also, Attorney General of Pakistan Malik Qayyum refused to comment on the same.

Once Hazrat Muhammad (SAW) Said to Sahaba Karam (RTA) the Muslim will be defeated by enemy although they will be in more numbers as compared to enemy (more precisely in urdu “bari ta’dad meen honay kay bawajood bi maghloob hongay). Sahaba Karam (RTA) astonished and ask the reason. Holy Prohpet Muhammad (SAW) Replies that when Muslim leave the Jehad (Jazba Jehad will be very less) then they will be defeated and they will be in misery due to their enemy (non-muslims).
