Madani, Many pakistanis ask , how can I comment on pakistan when I have not visited it. madani, read this, teh pakistan that you have never seen, but I have read and understood much better than you.

////////////////////
from jang of today. Have you seen such posters in pakistan. You will deny it, you will not see it. But teh world knows about it.

///////////////////
Then came the day when I was fresh again to go out and meet relatives and family friends in the city. As I went out, I saw the same poster pasted all over the city with a lot of white flags hoisted on all major intersections. I wondered what was going on, and the name Masood Azhar brought some old memories of watching this man on the news. Yes, this is the same Masood Azhar who founded the Jaish-e-Muhammad organisation and served time in Indian jails before getting freed by hijacking an Indian Airlines jet.

Bahawalpur was always a laidback small town where everyone knew everyone else. Masood Azhar was a neighbour of my cousins and used to have a small house which wasn’t even visible from the road. I remember when he was released. The BBC wanted to film his return, from the terrace of my cousins’ house, but they refused due to privacy concerns. Since then we heard little about him, in the news or in local gossip. In general, people didn’t give him much credibility.

My attention was drawn to the graffiti around me. Gone were the usual slogans of old times, directing people to visit miraculous witchdoctors for the solution of all their problems. The walls were filled with anti-West hate slogans, with “Al-Jihad al-Qital” (holy war, bloody battle) written everywhere around the central mosque. This was not the Bahawalpur I knew.

Madani, when I say post a human interest story, I mean something like this. Post one you can find from pakistan.

from times of india of topday

lavazhaki’s life has all the elements of a fairytale. Growing up in a slum in Vyasarpadi, she had to work hard for things that most children take for granted. As a fish-cart puller, her father Irudhayaraj brought home earnings too meagre to feed a family of five. Ilavazhaki had often forgone her meals for the sake of her younger sisters, Ilakiya and Sevanthi. Needless to say, she considered buying school books unnecessary expenditure for her struggling family. And there was no bitterness when she had to discontinue studies after class IX.

But for a square-shaped wooden board, Ilavazhaki’s life would have been totally devoid of hope. She was six when she first tried a hand at carrom. This was not surprising, because the game is an integral part of life in the slums. Often, a carrom board is the only entertainment slum-dwellers can afford. Many of India’s greatest carrom players are from the slums.

Watching his eldest daughter play, Irudhayaraj, a competitive carrom player himself, realised early that his family had an exceptionally talented child. Driven by ambition to make Ilavazhaki famous, he found the energy to train her everyday, after spending tiresome hours on the road.
Dad’s determination

His efforts were not in vain. Winning the junior nationals thrice, Ilavazhaki was well on track for the kind of glory that he wished for her. And she kept his hope alive after graduating to the women’s category, winning three golds in the Asian championship in 2005 and picking up another three in the SAARC championship, held the same year. The moment daughter and father were waiting for arrived in 2006. After striking it rich again in the SAARC championship, she won the World Championship in New Delhi.

Madani saab, cry for your country. It is not the engineers that is the problem, it is teh social norm that any one can get away with anything, there is no legal system, there are no institutions...it is a failed state.

Chief Minister Secretariat consumes Rs20m in excess of allocated funds
Monday, June 23, 2008
Khalid Kheshgi

PESHAWAR: The Chief Minister Secretariat, which hosted three chief ministers during the outgoing year, has consumed Rs20 million in excess of the fund allocated for it in the annual budget for 2007-08, and half of the extra fund has been spent on entertainment and gifts.

The supplementary budget statement for 2007-8 reveals that a sum of Rs10.8 million had been spent in addition to Rs4.9 million under the head of entertainment and gifts. The figures indicate that chief executives of the cash-strapped NWFP have spent Rs1.3 million monthly from public exchequer on their official and private guests, whereas a total Rs20.7 million had been allocated for the whole provincial Labour Department in the year 2008-09.

Former chief minister Muhammad Akram Durrani resigned from his office on October 8, 2007 after developing differences with a major component party of the Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal over the presidential election and former Wapda chairman Shamsul Mulk was sworn in as caretaker chief minister on October 10, who occupied the Frontier House till May 30, 2008.

Well what a standard of ethics we have set here!!

In order to dismantle Musharaff Mr. Muzammil is ready to do the following.
1- Give pardon to a theif name Zardari who stole billions from people of Pakistan. Same Zardari who is very well known in Sind for abducting & raping women at will, killing his opponents ruthlessly and setting new lows for bribery that in his times even a SHO had to pay him money for his posting. Now this characterless theif and gangster shall be accepted as a leader because " no one is an angel in this town". Great excuse!!
2- Accept CJ Chaudhry despite that this is the soulless guy who helped Nawaz to dismantle in those days CJ, Mr Sajjad Ali Shah, while Chaudhry was in Balochistan High Court. This champion of Justice also approved every Military governament action as Supreme Court Judge until 2006 when he became CJ. He used governament planes, press officials to favor his corrupt son and so on. Then after becoming CJ he got his price from Nawaz, his old compatriate, and start conspiracy of Military ruler Musharaff. In any Civiized society such a corrupt person would not be allowed to have a governament job, left alone be CJ of Supreme Court. But we shall accept him as Monarch of Justice as he will help in processing every single petition' legally or illegally, against Musharaff, destroying every single ethical rule reserved for Supreme court justice. The rule that Justices should be tried at higher ethical standard does not apply to him. Why? Because he is helping Nawaz to get even with Mushraff in personal Vendetta.

Third felon of this party Mr. Nawaz Sharrif. A guy who arrested foriegn investors who build electric power houses so that no known Power company is ready to invest or build power houses in your country to this date or forseable future. This guy looted billions of foreign exchange dollars from private bank account holders after Nuclear bomb so that he and his cronies could transfer their money out. In his days Pakistan's GDP was mere 1.5 % and we earned the title from UN " country who lost a decade ( referring 90s". Above all this hero of democracy invented the " Punjabi shawnism" and collected two third majority on the basis of punjab votes while no significant seats in any other province. This symbol of Federal govrnament literally exists only in Punjab and outside Punjab his party does not even exists. Just imagine while Balochistan, Sind, NWFP are on extreme of seperation crying outloud that their resources are stolen by Punjab what will happen when this genious will return!!.

Whole world is worried about food and fuel. More than 50 % Pakistanis can not afford to eat two times. Our biggest problem is how to help Nawaz settle his scores with Musharaff and how to help Zardari steal PPP from those who deserved to be the leaders. All this becasue Musharaff kick out Nawaz when he was kicking out PPP, MQM, Supreme court, Army, Foreign investors etc etc. I do not endorse Musharaff for his illegal action, but Zardari or Nawaz should not be the answer. Wheather we accept it or not, Musharaff kept GDP above 7%, reduce extreme poverty from 43 to 22 %, increase per capital income from 400 to 1000 dollars. He did got us off IMF. Before him News paper would tell us every week that only 4 weeks foreign reserve are available. He got foreign reserves to 18 billion, he increased exports from 8 to 18 billions. Though for a poor nation like Pakistan this is not enough, it is better than what Nawaz and Benazir did combined. It was a good start. Finally, foreign investors invested 7 billion in Pakistan in 2007 (compare to 9.5 billion in 8 times bigger India, this year it has fallen to 3.5 billion) He handled the Nuclear Proliferation issue much better. Now every News channel in USA is showing stories on Pakistan's Nuclear Proliferation.

While all this is here, our biggest problem is that we missed to dismantle Musharaff with long March. May be we need to correct our targets in life before yelling Opportunity Missed.

Re: # 23 Mr Jayp..... Still I have not got answer why India can not build bridge which can not be washed by floods.
Let me confess all engineers from indo pak are useless and do not know how to do right stuff.
Now good english engineers made plans for indian bridges and they built as they did not take bribes and they did not take money from contractors for accepting shody work.
Now English sahib built so many railway bridges thousands of steel and all are working fine. Now no british built and designed bridge collapsed even after 100 years.
Now there is craze for concrete bridge building is crazy as reinforcement in bar get bad burst concrete. Those smart british engineers built of steel bridges. All concrete bridges are defective against dynamic transit loads. Onlt way is built bridges from steel. AND STEEL IS NOT GOING TO WASH AWAY.

Re: # 19 Mr.Jayp please do not underestimate police dept of Karachi. Do you know the police chief has PhD. Can you show me anything like than in India.
Now these camreras and high tech is good as it can give control to police to check what is going on sitting in one place. New chief said what we need 3 cs. Command, control and communications.
I hafve heard in usa it is quite common all time to deter minorities blabks, dark indians shop lifting goods and then caught on video. No point in not useing high tech.
Criminals are put under tension if they know they are beining filmed.

Re: # 20 Now what big story in that ? If mr. Khan likes cultivating mangoes that is fine thing. Look such human story of Bhuttos all drama except sex replaced by patriotism.
Buuttos grandfather was gentleman and was awarded SIR title by British govt. Now all rulers of indopak are stupid but not british rulers they use to value the use of man before calling sir.
Then Zab lion of Sindh and Pakistan, he screwed Ayub never knew.Great statesman and tore resolution on bangladesh in UN and newyork and left assembly stunning world. Do you know last person Mao allowed to him was ZAB as even mao greatly valued his statesmanship and was dazzled. Then afterwards he diod not see anybody he died. Then like rising sun he outshined all kings and military leaders of Muslim Ummah and became only spokesman of Ummah. He electrified all ummah and he taught lesson to usa by arab embargo ( It was bhutto thing, brian behind) and world understood power of muslim nations as they control economy of world , economic life line. He brought 90,000 pow back from india and outsmarted Mrs. Gandhi who was even called by Kissinger most cunning and dangerous lady.
Then unfortunate flaw of alcohol and mo zia caught him like a sleeping tiger put in cage and shot.
Then BB and her all struggles, 2 times pm and dismissal and 3 nice children and mother at same time mother of all pakistanis and then she brought back democracy and sacraficed her self for poor people. Little blemish of corrouption but even sun and moon has dark spots. Now her wodower guiding and soon son bilawal will be leading. He has greatness in blood when he said " BB's sacrafice will not be lost but we take revenge by taking part in elections.
He is already looking as stateman. I believe in science of DNA, there is something in their blood which elevates them from we mortals and no nothiong people.
That is real story mr. Jayp not little khan raising mango trees. But I take it as indian style JAYP style joke.
Also you claim you have been to usa. I wonder can you proove that you have really gone there. As I know lots of indians specially living along little starving village claims they are in usa. Also lots of indians are claiming as IT exprts are many times nothing but little code makeing bunch of Kachheri Babus who got chance to go to usa. You should think of making friends in neighbourhood. You can spend your efforts on such things than -ve thinking hindu ways of thinking.
Good night.

Bhai Jay Pakhana,

How about u devote a lil more time figuring out how 2 provide bathrooms to millions upon millions of heengboos who are defecating on railroad tracks. If you have spare time after you take care of that monumental task, than you might want to keep an eye on ur wife ..cause if u r not careful she'll pop out a girl n u'll be caught off-guard..u should be vigilant with a hanger n as soon as the sono says..'its a girl' go to town with that hanger...otherwise they might kick u out of hindooism...n that would mean u wouldnt be able to burn ur ammi alive in the chitta of ur dead abboo..n that would just be insanity...

Madani,

Here is a challenge for you. Post a human interest story from pakistan, like the one below from india.

Over 300 varieties of mangoes on one tree!

Lucknow (PTI): Toss the word "mango man" in Malihabad, it would refer to Haji Kalimullah Khan.

His rare technique of growing more than 300 varieties of mangoes of different shapes, sizes and hues on one tree has helped him get Padma Sri recently.

When Khan talks about the variety of mangoes grown by him in his orchards in the renowned 'dussehri' belt in Malihabad, it seems that he is fondly referring to his family members.

Khan's prized tree is about 100 years old on which he started work in 1987 to develop the craft of growing different varieties on one tree.

KARACHI: Karachi under growing video surveillance

By Imran Ayub

KARACHI, June 21: As the city government allows law-enforcement and intelligence agencies access to its recently-established command and control system, which monitors signal-free corridors I and II, the police authorities have begun installing cameras separately, mainly in the ‘red zones’ of the metropolis, for video surveillance.

More than 150 cameras being installed in southern parts of the city are designed to be monitored through centres established in different areas by police personnel, sources in the department told Dawn.
/////////////////////

Madani saab,

Read the above, it is total stupidity on the part of pakis to waste money to install the cameras. In karachi the problem is not about knowing who commits teh crime, the police are in cohort with teh criminals.

There is no law enforcemenbt agency in pakistan, in many parts of karachi teh residents are creating road blocks to p[rotect them from attackers who come in cars and loot them.

This is stupidity, pakistan trying to look like a civilised society.

Let us read the book together, the book never talks about TV cameras and they are haram. Ask jihadis to blow them up.

Madani saab, here is a report from a paki provincial capital. Karachi report should be much worse, in case you are loosing touch with the pak reality.

PESHAWAR: 214 murdered, 58 kidnapped in six months

Bureau Report

PESHAWAR, June 20: The police seem to have lost their grip over criminals as the ratio of crimes in the provincial capital is increasing fast.

According to details, collected through various sources, during the past six months, 214 murders and 248 attempted murder cases were reported in Peshawar.

Similarly, 247 persons were injured, 15 of them grievous;

madani saab, instead of attacking me , join this poor pakistani, help him, even though he is stupid to think that pakistanis can brainstorm. Their brains are full of words from an old book

IMF gives D-day of Dec 31

WE, the people of Pakistan, were of the view that the dreaded IMF and its stringent policy enforcement was done and over with. Sadly the news that the IMF wishes to force the government into removing all subsidies with a ‘deadline’ of Dec 31 is both alarming and disturbing.

Apart from dictating this most recent ‘threat’, will the IMF also provide the people of Pakistan with free wheat, electricity, petrol, transportation, roads and railways? If not, then I believe that the people of Pakistan should force their chosen representatives for ‘reprieves’ and stand firm on not acceding to the wishes of the IMF.

We are a poor country undergoing colossal economic, social and political problems. The common man is already under the burden of ever-increasing inflation and lack of the basic necessities of life. If the subsidies were to be removed and say petrol was to touch Rs100 per litre, the common man will have no option but to resort to heightened corruption and resort to violent methods such as robberies, thefts and much worse to feed his empty stomach and that of his family.

This is a time of brainstorming, where it is advised that all able and thinking Pakistanis should think of their future and come up with ways to tackle the plethora of problems, but more increase in prices will only mean more grief, more lament and more destruction of the moral, ethical and societal fibre of the nation.

UAE-based group to take over KESC

By Shamim-ur-Rahman

KARACHI, June 20: The Dubai-based Abraaj group of companies is likely to announce on Monday a new CEO who would take over management of the Karachi Electric Supply Company from the Aljomaih group following finalisation of a deal through which the Saudi company offloaded 50 per cent of its 73 per cent shares and management in the utility, sources said on Friday.

The Dubai based Abraaj which is a leading regional financial and capital investments group, besides being involved in real estate business, has been engaged in the ‘due diligence’ process in the KESC from its seaside office in the metropolis.

///////////////////////

Electricity is such a commodity in so much of demand and a paki company cannot produce enough. Now the management has been given to a middle east company, the so called management experts, so much for paki management capability and their educational institutions.

Cry masadi cry ...for that doomed nation...wait for iraquisation to save you all.

madani saab,

When you all where excited about the new govt and the restoration of the judges nd kicking out of the mushy, I was the first to say that none of those will happen.

I was the first to suggest that UAVs are the bset to deal with the jihadis, and any one shouting jihad should have the shehdad delivered to his door step. Almost that is happening now.

To comment on pakistan or for that matter any country is to have a capability to link cause and effect, have a good memory of teh events. I was teh first one here to say that the bomb will turn out to be a millstone on paki necks and jihadis will destroy pakistan.

For many of the above, teh pakistanis like romair rediculed my analysis . now they are eating their words in silence.

Next is the iraquisation of pakistan, that is already happening the NWFP and it will spread, take it from me.
