i think if the usa can use its influence, to, fairly, resolve disputes, it should do so......

I never thought that you twist other people's posts, so I presume that you misinterpreted mine. I had said that Obama will continue but not intensify bombings in Pakistan. My reference to nuanced approach was wrt supporting the civilian government and placing any blame of duplicity on the military.

Now, the Kashmir issue. I did not lay out anything because nobody, perhaps not even Obama, knows what he would do on Kashmir. All we know is an off-hand remark he used in an interview which was not about India-Pak relations. I doubt that he has yet formulated his approach to the Kashmir issue, except that he believes that the resolution of that issue would change Pakistan's attitude towards Afghanistan.

And it is not only moderates like me, even hawks like B.Raman think that Obama will put pressure on India. And Times of India has apparently come out with an "Lay-off Kashmir" editorial for Obama.

How many kuldip nayyar/capt clueless types want to go out on a limb and predict the end of hellfire strikes?

If there's anyone new to the forum, you should know that after 9/11, capt clueless here told us that pakiland was on its way to economic superpowerdom..you know..with US wind in her back...and with this new found economic power, it would keep on the jihad until kashmir dropped into their laps...

but..if there's nobody new here...why bother?
