Interesting interesting!
ok undeniable facts..
1. Mother India was divided.. so creation of pak was a VERY TOUGH pill to swollow for the Indians! shows even today!
2. Kashmir is being held against its will by India; (read ANY 3 good books on kashmir, whether Pakistani, Indian or neutral or goto Encarta's latest Ed for a quick ref (Open-mindedness is mandatory to come to the logical conclusion)
3. India satisfied a bit of its thirst for revenge in 71 by doing what we all know it did in east pakistan (only to create ONE MORE muslim country! the advantage of which for Islam r hardly discussed but r already showing!). Actually lets accept, india just expedited the inevitable!
4. The current glory/limelight for India from the west has obvious reasons.. its enimity with China & Pak being the top 2 in that order, the 3rd & 4th being it population and of course its IT sector. and YESS thats about it !!
5. Most independent/international stats that matter to the COMMON MAN show not much diff between the 2 nations; both r almost equally bad, so not much to cheer about on either sides.. sorry!
6. What india doesnot understand is something very serious.. let me summarize it for them..
pakistan is the moderate state (moderator??) between war-torn AFGHANISTAN (that defeated USSR (somehow) and is now giving the USA a run for its money)and INDIA..!! suppose all Pak's enemies (US, India in particular) are able to divide pakistan, slice it down, so to say.. What does that bring to INDIA's doors!!?? the AFGHANIs! the pathans.. and history bears witness to what plundering these guys did for centuries as invadors of the rich india!! use ur imagination plz!
7. What Pak is going thru at present is bad govt and what i would call a bad show on the diplomatic front.
8. In my view, logically speaking India is the biggest problem/threat for pakistan today (as always!?)
No 1 :- Clear violation of the Indus Water Treaty (construction of Baghlihar dam on pak's share (Chenab river) cutting down the flow to Pak from 55mn csc to 19.5 and now almost 9! that would dry up considerable parts of pak and would definitely result in a war if continued/enhanced
No 2 :- Clear infiltration of RAW in Baluchistan. (Undeniable proofs of the same can be had from the internet even)
No 3 :- Negative media campaign against pak.
CONCL : Keep doing what u r doing, sir,.. i dont stop my enemy if its busy drilling a hole in its own boat!!

If Kashmir is handed over to Pakistan thn one day Muslims of India will demand an another land for thm .So handing over the Kashmir to Pak will be like submission of India in front of Divide and rule policy.we have already lost a big portion of our Country to the people of Religion of PEACE (haha)

Dear Shridhar Naik
I have read your article but I would like to know one thing from you. Once the Kashmir issue is solved where will the highly unqualified millitants go, they will not disappear in thin air. Already the Islamic hardliners are debating whether to close Girl's School or whether women should be prohibited from Employment. You have Yasin Mailk a school drop out but wishes to become the Prime Minister of Kashmir. The militants cannot give us Computers, IT, Hollywood, Bollywood, modern technology, Their knowlege doesnt extend beyond religious books.
Of course the different kashmiri political parties will be fighting for political supermacy whether it is JKLF OR Hurriyat. Already there are lot of differences between Lone,Malik and Mirwaiz
Iqbal

shridharnaik,
Whatever Pakistan has got is already too much, also whatever land Islam has got is already too much. Also, you must be having some idea of how many democracies Islam or muslims have? That should give you an idea of what should be done to opinion of muslims in general? What Kashmiri muslim wish is not India's problem, Kahsmiri muslim, British muslim, French muslim can wish anything they want, we should think about what we wish for them. We wish for them good life but not life of a pure muslim (Islamist). It is near impossible for Islamists to live goood life for long, they have to create trouble for themselves and others sooner or later (doesn't matter what you give them).
Now if you don't understand what we wish for them then here it is:
1. Forget that your wishes are important, you got converted by Islam forcibly and some of you as late as the time of Aurangjeb and since then your sane mind is not with you.
2. We wish you to live in state of Kashmir as good citizen's of India or else you can leave the land of Kashmir and can go to Pakistan/Iran/Saudi Arabia.
3. Forget that you are muslim, you have been muslim for quite long now concentrate on being a good human. We have spent enough money on you and can spend a lot more provided you behave like good humans and not just plain simple Islamists needing land for Islam.

The kashmir issue will not be solved till pakistan is further divied up. The nwfp is gone. sindh is on teh way out.
The paki military is killing off all the fellow muslims. The pak military is being re-oriented as an occupation foprce, essentially to guard the nato supplies and to keep the fractured country, nominally intact.
The killings in and originating from pakistan will continue till pakistan is fragmented.

"Pakistan is the ultimate fool here. They messed up their nation trying to fight for Kashmir. Guess what? Those KAshmiris who want to secede want to be independent, not part of Pakistan.
Pakistan - please vacate PoK and hand it over to India. Then the Kashmiris will be united and the Kashmir problem will be solved...."
We are not very intelligent either......

Cobra...
That is OK...But why to keep this junk. Now economics rule; rather than politics and emotion. It should be prudent for India to sell part of Kashmir, with some handsome amount, say US$400Bn or US$500Bn making the oil rich gulf countries as financiar.
It will be bigger problem for China and Pakiland than that of India.
Indian political leadership is kept on doing the same blunder, what they have done 60 years back....
Problem is we need to convince the political leadership in Kashmir. Farruk Abdullah etc.. wil never like this setup. They will loose political power and try relocate in Jammu....
Salim Ch....
Mr. Mule, why don't you convince your master to purchase the land and the herd? That will be best for Islam as well as India....OIC will get another member...victory against non-believers....so many benefits....

"Kashmiris have every right to their freedom just like all Indians and Pakistanis. I still can't believe in this day and age, Kashmiris are still being butchered and their women are being raped and burnt alive daily for asking for their basic right to freedom......"
What to do with the people who do the same with Kashimiri Pundits? Arabic moon god might have revealed that 7th century beduin followers to behave in this fashion to the non-believers.
He/she should have told something to his/her preferred beduin, that sometimes non beduin followers may pay back the same...or that chapter of KoRun (payback) was eaten by camel/goat....

Layman...
Kashmir is infected with accute Islamic/Jihadi virus like Pakistan. I don't think it will be normal again. It is good for India to sell most part of Kashmir to Saudis (and quarantine rest of India). Let them hand over it to Pakistan or whatever it may be....
Kashmir, with less than 1% of Indian population will never get support from any of the UN security council members to be a free country....Russian block, China, NATO are not for creation of separate country. Couple of jihadis will decide, whether to form a country!!!!

from jang of today. One should not trust paki media, it is all censored.
He said that the founder of Pakistan, Mohammad Ali Jinnah, knew very well that his perception of Pakistan was unacceptable to the ruling classes. He said that it was not surprising that Jinnah’s speech, in which he made it clear that Pakistan would be a secular state, was censored on the directives of Chaudhry Mohammad Ali who later became the prime minister of Pakistan. Dr Mehdi Hasan said that since then, “we are facing censorship in our midst and even our textbooks are censored

Hi
I always am/was and will always be for the autonomy of Kashmir.
According to 1947 freedom act, Kashmir was part of Pakistan, which is majority Muslim region ruled by Hindu Maharaja.
I have had been saying this since my childhood and will always say that....
Kashmiris have every right to their freedom just like all Indians and Pakistanis. I still can't believe in this day and age, Kashmiris are still being butchered and their women are being raped and burnt alive daily for asking for their basic right to freedom......
I believe the only way to solve this is to give every kashmiri a right to vote for choosing one of the following choices via referendum under the strict supervision of UNO and whatever majority decides , all of the world should respect that.....
Here are three choices...
#1:Kashmir should be an independent country without a influence of Pakistan or India by the name of Azad Jammu Kashmir with the inclusion of Azad Kashmir.
or
#2: Kashmir should be included in India as it's state.
or
#3: Kashmir should be given back to Pakistan as one of it's state.
Without these solutions there will never be any peace in sub continent......
No matter what, If India will forcefully try to choke their voices, they will come back with more force and India will be calling for it's own self destruction.
So, what if,? Kashmiris will be independent?
Nothing will happen to India, India can't compell them to be with it, nor can Pakistan can influence their freedom......

Kashmir was a done deal in 1947. Redrawing any international borders is out of the question.
The Kashmiri agitation is fueled by two components. The main component is the dissatisfaction resulting from the division of its people on two sides of the LOC. That can be addressed to some extent by allowing a freer movement through "soft" border policies (but not open borders). However, it will not happen till Kashmiris themselves show appreciation for such gestures by behaving as more responsible Indian citizens and not misusing the freedom which they enjoy in India to malign that very country. Right now, the Indian nation at large holds a very low opinion of the Kashmiris. Perhaps things can improve over time.
The second component is the religious fanaticism which originally drove the agitation for Pakistan and is now sustained by jihadi groups and parts of the Pakistani state and its khaki establishment. Pakistan is a failed state and if Kashmiris know what is good for them, they would keep away from acts inspired by Pakistani state and its jihadi proxies.
