Dear Mofeez!

It was a great article. Yes I agree with you its about time for M. Waseem and Inzi to play at their propper batting order. I think that Pakistan is in need of the services of Amir Sohail (whom a friend of mine call Mike Tyson of Pakistani Cricket .. reference his involvment in controversies). And in my opinon its about time that we stop relying on repeat failures(with fadding class+form) and start putting our faith in Hassan Raza, Wasti, Imran Nazir and list just goes on and on. Ijaz might make a big score but he is a gone case his class is rapidly fadding.

I think we both are deeply in love with the person named Javed Miandad I think its need of the hour to appoint him as a coach (by the way is there anyone more capable of coaching Pakistani team than him ?) and get rid of these jokers.

Cheers

I think Pakistan got away with murder here. I think this win should not be overplayed. What Pakistanios must think about is their batiing. I do not think there is any team which is self destructable than Pakistan .....ok maybe West Indies. When Pakistan plays against any country it is playing against that country plus themsleves. I think Inzamam, Ijaz, Saeed Anwar must be told their records look good but either perform or play first class only. I mean this thing has been going onsince World Cup. I rather fai with a young team than with our so called experienced legendry batsmen

``More importantly, however, I disagree with your recommendation for Ijaz at No.3. He is a repeat failure.I don`t know what is it that he is still doing in a team that has great prospects in both balling and batting.``

What I mean is that every player should play at his spot. By this token, if you have two or more great players at one spot a la Australia did with Boon, Marsh, Mark Taylor and Moody, you play only one and not push the rest into spots they are not used to. That is why I want Ijaz at 3 and if M. Waseem at 3 or Aamir Sohail at 3 are in better form then they should play but I do not want Waseem to be pushed to the opening slot and play both in the team. There should be competition for every slot. Ijaz`s one day record is

ONE-DAY INTERNATIONALS

(including 20/06/1999)

M I NO Runs HS Ave SR 100 50 Ct St

235 218 29 6164 139 * 32.61 - 10 33 87 -

Now this is pretty good plus his performances in Australia are very good. Right now Inzi and Saeed are not getting many runs either but you can not drop all of them. Thus I think persisting with Saeed at 1, Ijaz at 3 and Inzi at 4 will soon pay off but shuffling batting orders never helps. I do feel that Wasti will play the next game instead of Afridi. Razzaq should come after Moin and before Akram. This makes for a very well balanced and long batting line up. Let us see what they decide on Saturday. Thanks for reading and taking the time to comment.

Mofeez

``Door money at a bar a night prior to the World Cup final…25 pounds. A scalped ticket at the World Cup final…2000 pounds. Money made on betting against Pakistan in the World Cup final…50,000 pounds. Beating the World Champions in their own back yard…priceless!``

I loved this part. YES, we need an opener. More importantly, however, I disagree with your recommendation for Ijaz at No.3. He is a repeat failure.

I don`t know what is it that he is still doing in a team that has great prospects in both balling and batting.

I think he is as good as done.

Interested to know what you think.
