Probably the writer wanted to ploy the story. So

he has written that way. Otherwise I find certain

fallacies in it.

Firstly,Panini should not have got so much flabber

gasted and told any thing he liked to the man, particularly when the man being new to him.

Secondly, the odd accents and odd dress of the man should not have upset him to such an extent, particularly when the author claims himself to be a highly educated research fellow.

Thirdly, he should not have taken the altercation

to such a limit so as to call the police. It is interesting to know that the man has never tried

to quarrel with the author.Rather the author himself has invited the quarrel in almost all occasions.

It is a good story, the theme behind being that

emotion surpasses rules

RE: Fairdinkum #21

Nice try Birdie!

(Kuwwa chala hans ki chaal, apni bhi bhool gaya)

Hint: It`s all about ``THAT``.

Rather hilarious. However, first there was the disdain for babies and now the same for old people, oops! Anarchy against say corporations or municipalities(pun intended), is better worth the trouble, IMHO. Why, they even dictate the color of your garbage bags, what to say about dead pets.
:-).

urstruly,

I was only kidding man! I know what this stroy is all about.

this story is about a deep psychlolological concept. author with his abstract expression has endavoured to connected this concept to the postmodern philosophy of deconstruction in turn rejecting the meta nerrative espoused by structural ideologies.

wouldn`t you agree urstruly?

i also know what you meant by ``THAT`` :)

#19, ``Next time I will make sure that I use one of my other handles; Neelee, Reema, or Lubna etc.``

hehe

Panini #17

That hurt. I asked you a question, first. Next time I will make sure that I use one of my other handles; Neelee, Reema, or Lubna etc.

Fairdinkum:

Sorry dude. There are no short cuts here. It takes years of hardwork, perseverance, and an unquenchebale thirst for knowledge to reach this high level (where I am :)). So get used to it buddy.

Lubna:
Congratulations, You have just graduated to the level of `Ikatees Maar Khan`by hamin halal kar keh apni zubaan ki meethi churri say`. You dont need jharoo :)

Mr Panini:

Invalid answer. Sitting by the window (hope the blinds aren`t down..) you should have ``thought`` more before answering my question. If everything is to be taken at face value, then one of the choices I gave you was very valid and two others could have been. Go figure. (sorry, had a bad dinner)

Re: Lubna`s question (#16).

None of the choices are valid. When I am busy with research, I will tolerate no intrusions. I will also not tolerate any breach in animal care rules.

Cordially

Panini

Meestair Paaneeni:

A multiple choice question for you:

[[I think (in my presently delirious state) your story`s about:

Psychoanalysis and defense mechanisms. The parrot is symbolic of one used by the old man (maybe as a measure against the vulnerability he feels due to his deformity). (Symbolic perhaps of his (``artificial``) ego he keeps on feeling the need to ``inflate`` every now and then - or is that just a compulsive disorder?). So, when the ``parrot`` is taken away from him, he can`t survive the reality (that he in fact is a nobody) his conscious mind is now forced to face. As for the narrator - he shrives, thinking that by getting all this (for which he feels responsible) off his chest he can get rid of the guilt his consciousness is not letting him live with. The guilt that in turn is maybe puncturing his sense of self-importance? hmmm.....]]

O wise one, please choose the correct answer:

a) Yep, that`s right! That is exactly what the story`s about...

b) ummm... almost there, but not quite...

c) No way dude! Where`d you get that idea from??

d) heheh... don`t know myself...

e) argh! No one understands! Guess I`ll have to explain...

f) Forget it...

So, which one will it be then Mr Brain-in-a-jar? ``c``? ``f``?

The story was well written, if a bit obscure. The writing style strongly brings some other writer to mind - can`t pinpoint exactly - am brain dead at the moment. (btw - which Pink Panther movie?)

scout and zehra:

yahan hai yeh Lubna, marr rahi hai yeh Lubna... aur tum donon baaz nahi aao gai (scout - tumhara number lagta hai waqt say pehlay hi aa jaaye ga - you just wait...) *sniff * this been such a bad week so far.... there are kids bringing live snakes to class (and i`m going around carrying them wrapped around my arms with a big smile plastered on my face - probably will die of salmonella poisoning soon)... there`s an extremely upset second grader who just learned in science class that she`s a mammal - now the other kids are not letting her live this down and she`s bent on proving to them before the week`s out that she`s not an ``animal`` (as she puts it) - i`m hoping she succeeds and turns into a turnip (and hamidm was complaining about the problems with teaching evolution)... the kids are blaming me for no halloween party this year (hey, it was a school decision!)... i`ve got a pervert for a neighbor who`s been asking me, god knows why, why i don`t go swimming anymore (how about because it`s COLD now?? argh!)... there are loonies on their brand new motorbikes who think it really is very cool to tail me to school every morning (do dafa accident say baal baal bachi hoon)... i`ve had a migraine for the past couple of days jo jaaney ka naam hi nahi lay raha... i`ve only been getting 3-4 hours of sleep for the past 4-5 nights (AH - care to pass me those leftover tablets?)... my cat is hooked onto pickled olives (stuffed ones) and thinks it`s a great idea to wake me up in the middle of my three hour sleep to tell me he feels like eating some (good news: at least he doesn`t go on hunger strikes anymore for smoked turkey)... Lady Churail - my sister - is visiting and drags me around everywhere with her (yeh larki mujhey kangaal kar kay jaayegi) and she keeps on reminding me that Sleep is the cousin of Death everytime i say i`m tired and sleepy... i`ve got a flight to catch in less than 24 hours (it`s been finalized - i`m off for a week) and i haven`t even picked up the tickets yet... and to top all this, i feel guilty about taking leave for a week... can this get any worse? think i`ll go back to sleep... no, wait, have to take Miss Junglee (same sister) to dinner at Applebee`s... oh nooo! (btw scout - ``intellectual sweetie pie``? *snicker * *snort * ``intellectual``: yeh kab aur kaisay hua? ``sweetie pie``? yeah, as sweet as i can get listening to eminem... ;))

urstruly #9:

i cannot decide is this piece is really good or incomplete.

does it reminds anybody else of a short story in the middle of the world according to garp, called `the pension something`?

This has to be fiction. No country in the world requires a ``license`` for a rubber parrot!.
