The people like RS Afridi are the raeson why Pakistan needs an independent and sovereign judiciary. It is given that the Pirs, feudal lords, puRi farosh, and gun runners who constitute our current "elected" government would never let that happen. That is the reason why every Pakistani must stand shoulder to shoulder with lawyers and those who are fighting the forces of obscurantism, injustice and oppression.

RSA should be released immeditely.

How many such sentences have been handed down

to people accused of transporting hash of all things?

His confinement appears to be politically motivated.

Had the pleasure of contributing to The Frontier Post

during the 1990's. I still miss reading the Column of

the late Ahmad Bashir.

this is not a mere arricle, its the exposure of a frowning truth. the literate class of people in pakistan is the only hope, which can place a check & balance on these bureaucrates. its about time this class should pick their pens.

a secret monthly journal should be published from foreign based Pakistani journalist which should reach everyone; covering every nasty truth of Pakistani bureaucracy.

Afridi could have continued his faithful and honesty streak comfortably in exile.

He was/is clear victim of political bosses then and now.
The drugs were planted on vehicle he was in. Similar to inneumerable judicial murders and crimes to suffocate voice of Patrhans. Even Mullah burnt the newspapers as they by mistake misjudgement accepted a letter from Jew and published. That is grave crime and need to be punished but not burning press down. NRO has white washed and and cannonified all corroupt rulers, give break for this news man. Sometimes as Mr.Masadi said nothing has changed it is different wine with same taste and same bottle. Just every thing is magical and great.
