wots the point of hvin candles nd flags nd a march like rakesh has proposed.. it surely wont free us in the true sense.. we need somethin tht wud change our lives.. get us out of this feelin of insecurity or being labeled all around the world as disgustin dangerous filth. seriously thts how im made to feel when i step out.. or maybe its jus in my mind.. thts how i feel about myself nd all the people around me..thts how much i hate being born here.. nd made to live here.. its affectin our minds.. its corrupting them actually.. nd surely candles nd marches shudnt b the suggested remedy. u wanna c us in a better condition, how about u write somethin thts not against us.. somethin tht doesnt picture us as the nation of bombers nd blamers..

so as for us blamin india.. i personally had forgotten this very famous blame game.. " India did it" lol we used to play around wid this when we were kids.. i remember when i broke my mom's favorite glasspiece, i blamed it on india.. it was so common nd damn funny! now thanks to the mumbai attacks, we hv been reminded whom we shud b blaming for all the things happenin around the country.. man, its INDIA!! its the "in" this again.. INDIA DID IT!

Re: # 116

Shankar,

"As an American tax payer, I am entitled to ask Pakistan what are they doing with my tax dollars that we are sinking in Pakistan?"

Instead of asking Pakistan and its people, you go n ask the same question to the government you really pay taxes to for "target killings in other countries".

You sound so silly, Shankar. Do you see world politics as underworld where you have tasked a ganster to kill another, just cuz your "Rajpaat" remains okay, or what?

Sarkar Raj! LOL...

"apparently it is money to encourage the liberal & moderate Pakistanis to rise up."

Before investing you little dollars in liberals, you should have read history. Liberals NEVER rise up, they make compromises..so your money is gone, baby! :P

"Don't you think you should direct your anger at the guys who are destroying your country?"

Once again. That's none of your business. You just pull your forces and money out of my country, n I am a happy man.

"At least pretend you are giving our money's worth."

Spend the same money on training more US soldiers. And receive a hundred "liberty-loving" coffins in return.

"Damn it, its the business of the whole frikking world."
NO. IT'S NOT. MY COUNTRY IS NOT TO SERVE THE LAST BATTLEGROUND FOR YOUR FUCKING imperialist HYSTERIA, you moron.

"Nobody, least of all India, wants a nuclear Taliban."

Stop watching Fox. Or even CNN. Liberal fascism makes naive people stupid.

"This dove will keep cooing "its India's fault!" whilst being swallowed by the boa."

yeah, don't worry. We will deal with them.

Aha,

"You, an educated liberal..." Now this was really insulting! How dare you call me a 'liberal'! Shoot. :(

ok..."His immediate certainty that India and RAW were behind the attack is symptomatic of the deeper malaise."

You may laugh at me for a few more years, but if I am not wrong, don't you guys have a similer "immediate reaction" each time a rat dies in a slum. You are talking as if Indians waited for a clue to appear before they srated calling Pakistan responsible for Mumbai incident.

Let me give you an authentic breaking news. Indian influcence in Afghanistan is increasing day by day. And the latest is an offer of Rs. 10 lakh to one of my friends in Balochistan to get pictures of Quetta Cantt. He's been told to take pictures as if he's there to have fun and enjoy the weather. :)

Now we take all Indian moves as enemy moves. And it will be foolish to assume that India or any other anti-Pakistan state or non-state actors won't take advantage of any kind whatsoever in the current situation.

"Whenver two or more muhallah actors stand opposite to each other, each wants to F a capital bride, who is making efforts to run away. It's normal."

Take it easy.

BTW..there was a massive signature campaign against Narendra Modi which was signed by many many Indians, including yours truly. But he is a darling of the Industrialists as in his states he clears projects in double quick time-it still doesnt mean he will win there as there are enough poor people who see him only as pro rich..Seeing India as a land of trishul waving, saffron clad horrible hindoos is as deluded as seeing all of Pakistan and all Pakistanis as jehadi members of a homogeneous Islamic horde...Pakistan is in deep, deep trouble.Stopping deniala nd arresting the rot is the first way forward ,never mind what anybody else says...

As I recall, the Indians are still trying to pin mumbai on Pakistan, and the mass murderer of Gujrat is an elected governor or something in india. Pakistan on the other hand has done proper investigative work and identified the suspect.

Really? Has Tiger Niazi finally been identified as the suspect behind the murders of the 3 million Bengalis?

This is very very strange.

The link to the Dawn story about Kahuta-based culprits Talat and Aqil has been removed from the front page of Dawn. There is now no mention of it on ANY newspaper in Pakistan, though many many foreign newspapers have picked up the story and are running with it. It was reported initially by Geo TV, apparently, but there is no mention of it on the Geo TV site either. However, http://geo.tv/3-9-2009/36882.htm and http://www.dawn.com/wps/wcm/connect/Dawn%20Content%20Library/dawn/news/pakistan/ lahore-attack-little-known-mastermind-identified--zj are still accessible (tinyurl link to the latter link is at http://tinyurl.com/cd6wtm )

There is a speculation out there that is not unbelievable:

Pakis staged this attack to claim that they are victims too; and, divert attention away from the fact that foreign attacks are sponsored by the state agencies.

chor kee darhi may tinka......one of the first statements after the attack was comparing it to the Mumbai attack.

BSM,
As an American tax payer, I am entitled to ask Pakistan what are they doing with my tax dollars that we are sinking in Pakistan? Darn it, apparently it is money to encourage the liberal & moderate Pakistanis to rise up.
Your pride seems to be ruffled because you think we are patronizing. .Don't you think you should direct your anger at the guys who are destroying your country? At least pretend you are giving our money's worth.

Aha_snark: ok, peace, snark bhai. Agreed then that just as Modi (or hindu terrorism) is India's cross to bear, islamic terrorism is Pakistan's cross to bear. Let us Indians and Pakistanis leave one-up-manship for the cricket matches, and realize that both countries political instability and terrorism of any kind in either country is in no one's interest.

To clarify, I am laughing not at Pakistan but at what bittersweetmojo said. His immediate certainty that India and RAW were behind the attack is symptomatic of the deeper malaise : Pakistan seeks to immediately blame external elements generally and India in particular for pretty much any misfortune that befalls it. This would be silly and laughable if not for the fact that this demonstratedly false sense of paranoia and misplaced victimhood are preventing Pakistan from dealing with the real threat to the nation: thugs who are using Islam as an excuse to take over the country.

And contrary to what you say tahmed ji, Indians are not "trying to pin mumbai on Pakistan", the reality is that after denial after denial at every step, Pakistan has reluctantly agreed to crack down on terrorists in its own country.

And as for Modi, who I and many other Indians oppose wholeheartedly, apart from the Sangh laboratory of Gujarat, Modi has proven to be a liability to the BJP in many cases. If you are keeping an eye on Indian politics, which you should be, you will know that several parties have thought twice about the benefits of allying with the BJP, and he has stayed away from election rallies in many states.

Modi is our burden to bear and we have been bearing it for 7 years and will continue to bear it for a long time to come. If you read Indian newspapers regularly (which you should, of course) you will know that there is serious political and social opposition to Modi.

And sir, you and I both know which country is the laggard in the case of cracking down on terrorism. Yes, Pakistan banned the JuD... but doesn't it have any responsibility for allowing it to grow and flourish?

So what are you so happy about?? As an Indian, you should be ashamed of India lagging behind Pakistan when it comes to dealing with terrorism.

Lahore attack: ‘little-known’ mastermind identified

The security agencies conducted raids at several places after identifying Aqil, who has links to a banned militant group. However, the name of the group was not revealed.

Though Aqil, who hails from Kahuta, managed to escape, his accomplice Talat was captured, a private TV channel quoted sources as saying.

Talat and Aqil had been living in a flat near the Liberty traffic roundabout in Lahore, where the Sri Lankan team was attacked on March 3 by a dozen gunmen who ambushed its luxury bus, leaving seven players and an assistant coach injured and eight people dead.

Talat purchased a mobile phone SIM that was used by the terrorists involved in the attack, the channel reported. Aqil masterminded the attack and was also in-charge of its execution, it added.

The Pakistani police have detained nearly 100 people for questioning. None of the 12 terrorists responsible for the attack have been arrested so far. Police have also described at least five of the persons detained by them as ‘facilitators’ of the terrorists who carried out the attack.

Mobile phones discarded by the terrorists have been crucial in tracing suspects, officials have said.

Preliminary investigations have also suggested that the attack could have been carried out by a group of operatives of the banned Lashker-e-Tayiba to avenge the arrest of their operations commander Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi in the wake of the Mumbai attacks.

Aah ... such perfect denouement, don't you agree, bittersweetmojo? And you too, hitman at post #1,

If you have procreated or do ever procreate, no doubt you will teach your children to bravely own up to their mistakes and accept any blame that is due with grace.

So, let's have your apology for blaming India without a shred of evidence. Or do you think that this too is an Indian plot?

My apologies for being a bit brusque.
At long last, a positive, painful and yet extremely necessary step for the nation of Pakistan. I congratulate you on this. Perhaps now you can stop fighting the fictitious Indian demons that you have been obsessed by and start fighting the goddamn thugs who are endangering your country.

Bittersweetmojo

//
Aha_Snark,
Thanks for writing such a long reply. But I think you get first your facts right. That will help.///

eh? I contradicted and arguably disproved, with citations each and every single point that you made in the post I quoted. Which fact did I get wrong? It's as silly and irrelevant as me telling you to "stop beating your wife before you talk on this board".

And talking about things that will help, In 1970 the (West)Pakistani psyche blamed the debacle of Bangladesh entirely on India. 40 years later, Pakistanis have both blamed India for the Mumbai attacks AND the Lahore attacks. You blame India for Pakistan's international isolation, you blame India for the resources you *don't* spend on education, you blame India for the need for a strategic depth which caused you to infect yourself with the Taliban in the first place, you blame India for the mess in Swat, you blame India for the resentment of the Baloch, you've blamed India for the MQM and the BNP and, as a ritual reaction, for most acts of Shia-Sunni violence. It is now 7 years since a seminal study laid bare the ludicrous lengths to which Pakistani textbooks blame India and Hindus for things that happen. 7 years on, a generation of students has, nevertheless, grown up reading the same lying textbooks and internalising the habit of blaming India and Hindus. If you seriously want to reform anything do you think that you can achieve that goal without correcting your mistakes ? And if you do not accept and own up to your mistakes, how do you think you're going to correct them?

Take even this latest affront. You, an educated liberal, are so caught up in this internalised knee-jerk response that you immediately join the chorus and blame India for the Lahore attack.

The nation of Pakistan seems like a nation determined to cling to a poisonous sleep in which it sees constant visions of India the hegemon, India the cunning foe, India the bitter enemy in each and every aspect. You cling to this sleep and as you toss and turn in tortured slumber, your nation slips away around you, criminal gangs realise that there is no reason NOT to call themselves Taliban and every reason TO call themselves Taliban, as the usurped cloak of the defenders of Islam gives them the immunity they enjoy.
