Those who came around 1947 have no problems, I know so many who are a million miles away from Tafa Londonwalla's non-sense. Its the ones who sold off properties and came much later that are spoiling it for the rest of them.
There are older languages than Urdu, their speakers don't create such a fuss as the Urdu-daans do!

there are many migrants who migrated to rest of country, i have myself seen and met migrants from UP, Bihar, dehli and other parts of india setteled in rawalpinidi sialkot multan lahore.
And guess what they are living therer lives as any other normal citizens.
When you get discriminated and you fight against it isint your cause suppose to end the discrimnation instead of being the discrimnator yourself.
this is exactly what MQM did after reaching the helm of power with every hook and crook possible they become the discrimnator themselves, thats the reason they cannot afford to lose in elections, thats why they don't have any integrity to follow any line whom they should and should not be in goverment with and precicely thats the reason they use all kind of ploys to keep citizens of Karachi under fear.
But they got caught red handed live on tv on 12th may and still have shamless gut to deny it and play the vicitim.
12th may is no new things for people of karachi they are touched by MQM terrorism and facisim in one way or another only this time the rest of world seen it too.

We are talking about those other than, Punjabis, Pathans, Baluchis, Sindhis, Potohari, Saraiki and others who are not identified as sons of the people who speak the language of Urdu and comprise of those who "migrated" leaving all materials and property whatever little they had not to mention also left behind part of the family their relatives only and only for the cause of Pakistan supposedly a nation to be founded for the Muslims of the greater undivided India.
Do you get it now, this is how the Urdu Speaking Migrants--The Muhajirs identify themselves, if you don't get it, you won't get it.

The universally recongized term Muhajir appears as following in the Encyclopedia Wikipedia:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muhajir_(Pakistan)
Muhajir (also known as Urdu-speaking people) (Urdu: Ù…Û?اجر) is a term used to describe some Pakistanis as Urdu speaking Muslims who after partition of British India, migrated to Pakistan. As stated incorrectly a number of times, the term 'Muhajir' does not mean a refugee but rather a migrant. In Urdu, Muhajir is referred to a person who has performed a 'Hijrat', meaning migration.
The term 'Urdu speaking' is still not the correct term to identify a group of people since many of these people are of diverse ethnic groups, who arrived from various parts of India after Pakistan's independence. Many can trace their family roots to the Middle East, Persia and Central Asia as well. The one uniting factor for the people regardless of their origin is that their mother tongue is Urdu
Nadia, do you have a problem with the people who gathered and unanimously chose to be functional and voiced with Qaid-e-Azam for the formation of a nation for the Muslims of Undivided India?
Apparently so, it has become a normal practice of those non-Urdu speaking natives of the land who while became a part of Pakistan remaining native to the lands they were originally from, since last several years it has been observed that such native of lands who did not migrate when they chose to call names to all Muhajirs/Urdu speaking migrants that migrated they now conveniently use the term MQM as they find it safe to do so.
However, you should never forget that these Muhajirs without mentioning their contributions to the cause of Paksitan are here to stay, and will not disappear regardless of the expletives used by the attempting to oppress non-Muhajirs of Pakistan.
By camaflouging behind the term MQM people of your kind are earning nothing but hatred multiplied by hatred many times and the place for such individuals in the hereafter is reserved and well lit regardless of their size of contribution they are not serving the cause for which Pakistan was founded which logically excludes them from the faith they claim to be followers of.
Its hightime that Muslims of Pakistan recognize that other than pre-identified ethnicities and regionals such as Punjabi,Sindhi, Baluchi,Potohari, Saraiki, Pathan and many others Urdu Speaking Migrants commonly known as Muhajirs cannot and will not be excluded from Pakistan at any cost no matter how much people like you(Nadia Khan)feel like igniting fires of hatred and no matter how much you(Nadia Khan)wish to isolate the Urdu Speaking Migrants-The Muhajirs in Pakistan, we chose to participate in the formation of Pakistan, we stand by our committment and shall continue to participate in the active progress of Pakistan.
Yes, there are good bad and ugly in every nation, every ethnic and every regional native and it cant be discounted that there may be some who took things in their own hands and pursued in less than civil manner, however such opportunity can in no way be permitted to stereo-type the entire population of Urdu Speaking Migrants--The Muhajirs.
It is my earnest request that if you are a believer, a Muslim by faith, you should discontinue further aggressive attempts to fuel a fire that could consume more than you can dream of, and prepare yourself for the hereafter.
I close with hopes to see an article from you where you intensify your efforts by writing on uniting and de-polarizing and quote the following biblical proverb which extends beyond Christianity in it's expression:
Let he who is without sin cast the first stone
(while he is universally applicable to all genders)

Shame on you and anyone who singles out MQM or Mohajirs and forgets the theifs and robbers, rapists and murderers, racists and separatists from the rest of Pakistan. It is obvious Nadia Khan hates MQM and Altaf Hussain both. Her previous two articles against them were more direct.

Relax RR. Its good that we are talking about it and venting the feelings. MQM, or for that matter any political party, does not have a halo around it. Its a very simple idea and one which political science recognizes as one of the most effective: fascist. MQM has employed just about every trick in the book to rise to heights using the time tested methods and if anything, deserves to be praised for maintaining strict discipline and secular outlook. One more good thing to come out of it is that they are not ambiguous: they have a clear stand on things that matter to them.
Strip this ethnic shit and inside everyone is the same. Just as I am sick and tired of this whole Pakistan Ideology thing, about time we stop taking the ethnic apologists seriously. Chill out.

#48 It's funny you should ask that kaka. It hurts when someone shows you the mirror and it hits you in the face and you don't wanna admit your own faults and instead you ask childish questions. FYI Mohajir has now become a universally recognized term to identify the ethnicity of Pakistanis whose primary language is Urdu, and who left behind everything near and dear to them in what is now India, to be part of a new beginning for ALL Muslims of then India in the form of Pakistan. After all, had they not been instrumental in the creation and then construction of Pakistan, we wouldn't even be having this debate. As for the soil, the same soil that gave birth to "Kafir-e-Azam" Jinnah, because he was different from the majority. Same soil whose sons from the largest province of Punjab had chosen the anti-Pakistan Unionist party instead of the Muslim League in the first election. And the same soil where anti-Pakistan Bacha Khan is still the hero of Pathans and whose party still rules Pakhtoonkhwa province. The same soil where the mullahs who opposed Pakistan are still trying to destroy it and yet have support of the so-called sons of the soil. Yes, the same soil where Prime Ministers from Sindh return in coffins and sons of soil in uniform keep invading their own country. I could go on but digest this if you can Kaka, don't start a fire if it can burn you too.
#48 Posted by kakaballi on May 26, 2009 1:50:49 am
Sons of soil still call themselves 'Mohajir'.... what soil are we talking about? ;)
#47 Posted by RR on May 25, 2009 11:55:24 pm
So what's new Nadia Khan? You couldn't find any fault with the sons of soil who have been soiling Pakistan's name for the last 60 years? Shame on you and anyone who singles out MQM or Mohajirs and forgets the theifs and robbers, rapists and murderers, racists and separatists from the rest of Pakistan. It is obvious Nadia Khan hates MQM and Altaf Hussain both. Her previous two articles against them were more direct. She's gotten a little clever this time and used the crutch of a populist topic to again attack her two nemesis.
If Chowk is so keen on giving anti-MQM and anti-Mohajir racists a platform to spit poison in the faces of tens of millions of Mohajir voters who elect MQM candidates in every election, then so be it. The leaders of the rest of Pakistan have for the last 60+ years used Mohajirs as a punching bag to deflect their own failures by poisoning the minds of Pakistanis against the economic and social successes of Mohajirs. From Ayuub to Nawaz and MMA to Imran, they all feel they can take on a politically oppressed minority, whose biggest crime was at one time being not the sons of soil. Regardless of Mohajirs' role in creating Pakistan, they attack Mohajirs without fear and get away with it. Pakistan Zinda Bad.

LOL @Leena's comment.
Very catchy indeed: 'Ye tera Pakistan hai na mera Pakistan hai, yeh uska Pakistan hai jo sadr e Pakistan hai'
Couldn't agree more

Yes. Lets not. Then why say kaptaan? I am sorry to differ, but I guess every kaptaan is not jarnail, can not be a jarnail. So lets say jarnail. :)

Re: # 41
Actually a more appropriate version seems to be:
Tera Pakistan hay na maira Pakistan hay; us ka pakistan hay jo fauj main kaptaan hay!
Why devoid a whole bunch of inter-pass jarnails from the prize? Lord knows they are eligible to be Sadr e Pakistan more than the Sadr himself.
