Kerry -- a presidential Green Cherry? -- or a kool kalkulating Mata Herry?

Kerry became the Presidential Nominee -- by waiting for Howard Dean to self-destruct and he did.....!

will Kerry will become President -- by waiting for Juvenile Jorge to self-immolate by his own Iraqi Naphtha....?

..and he did...?

Kerry is the lousiest candidate in recent history. Given Iraq and economy he could still win in November.

TMK at # 5:

Senator Farhatullah Khan Babar`s party ruled the country twice between 1988 and 1999 and could have taken the right steps. What stopped them?

President Musharraf will surely do it, but Pakistanis need time to bring this major change. A headway has already been made in that the laws are actually being discussed and questioned.

President Musharraf did not ignore PPP, but it was other way round. For PPP of BB every thing in Pakistan will be 100% correct if BB is the PM. For PPP, democracy means BB to be PM. No other Pakistani has any right to that post. President Musharraf had offered the post of PMship to PPPP`s Makhdoom Amin Fahim, who was not allowed to accept the offer by BB herself for that would have totally marginalized her. I can tell you with absolute certainity that if PPP had its Qibla right, the current rule would be of PPP and PML Q.

Bush or Kerry make no difference - One anti-Muslim anti-human bigot will replace the other. It is not the faces, its the system that needs changing. It is the system of this lean and mean homicidal machinary that has been killing innocent human beings since the WWII all around the globe to keep the level of prosperity at the home they are now so accustomed to. In 158 direct ``armed conflicts`` which should really be termed us one way acts of aggression millions of human beings have parished and billions are leading a miserable life over which they prefer death. The countless proxy wars are on top of that. For example, just in three countries Iran, Iraq, and Afghanistan over 3 million human beings have perished in just last 25 years with the chemical, biological, and other weapons of mass destruction that they pumped into the region to fuel fires while they had the full capacity to extiguish the fires and heel the wounded humanity.

Letter by Senator Farhatullah Babur:

`Enlightened moderation`

General Pervez Musharraf`s call for ``enlightened moderation`` (Dawn, June 2) unfortunately has few takers in the country, as there is a contradiction between his call and the ground realities.

Consider the following ground realities: In October 2000 he promised to change those repressive laws that were made during the dictatorship of General Zia and which militated against the minorities and women.

Procedural modifications were announced in the blasphemy law. But when he realized that he needed the clergy`s political support, the general reneged on his promise.

President Musharraf also called for changes in the Hudood laws that lay down stoning to death a woman who fails to produce ``four pious Muslims`` as witnesses to prove that she was actually raped. But when the parliamentary opposition moved a bill seeking to amend the law, it was opposed by his own hand-picked adviser on women affairs.

General Musharraf has been wooing those very parties and groups whom he has been accusing of extremism. Election laws were carefully re-written to squeeze out the democratic parties and bring in clerical parties in elections which were denounced by the Commonwealth as ``seriously flawed``.

A political deal was negotiated with these parties to allow him to wear two hats of the army chief and that of the president and also give parliamentary approval to constitutional written in the GHQ.

Two years ago, promises were made to change amendments syllabi of the seminaries some of which are accused of teaching hate material. The promise was never kept.

About a month back, a new religious affairs minister was appointed, who last week announced that he had assigned to the dustbin the report of an international organization on religious seminaries.

True, the general warned jihadi outfits on January 12, 2002 against exporting militancy across the Line of Control in Kashmir. But prior to 9/11, General Pervez Musharraf was an ardent supporter of the so-called ``jihad``, even formally declaring on February 5, 2000, in Muzaffarabad the shifting of the Afghan jihad to Kashmir.

The people need to know if the glaring contradiction in the promises and the ground realities will be addressed.

SENATOR FARHATULLAH BABAR

I don`t know how we ended up with this Clone of a Bush -- loser....

now we understand why AL Gore did not pick this lazy blob of a candidate -- instead ended up with that Tora thumping zionist slob Lieberman....

..doesn`t look like the Democrats are even contesting the Election....but who knows -- no incumbent with a low rating of 40% -- 5 months before leection -- has ever won the Presidency...

John Kerry cannot win this one so long as he holds himself back from taking the initiative. The past six months that the Bush administration has had to face would have been excruciating for any government. But only if the opposition or the challenger had seized the initiative, taken up cudgels. Kerry`s campaign seems to be more of a series of missed opportunities rather than a fight for the Presidency. His record of dithering hasn`t helped him in this campaign, and his inability to take a decisive stand on any issue has shown him in poor light. Bush is projecting himself as a strong president. Kerry needs to combat that image of Bush. But seeming indecisive, dithering and reserved is not going to help. All it does is make him look like a weak contender.
