``Considered a subjective feeling, it can be found by listening to the sweet voice of Norah Jones, or felt after receiving a head butt by a neurotic but loving cat.``
I am not exactly sure about the ``head butts from the neurotic cat`` (sounds fun) but Jones`s soothing voice definitely jumpstart my moments of zen! :)
(``Come Away With Me`` is my favourite song by Norah Jones. I`m positive that every last excited particle in my body rests during that song.)

Jamal Rana,
Somewhere in the text you wrote: ``The whole point of looking for Zen is to look for it in everyday small things and to be able to savour it.``
Well, your article seems somewhat entertaining as a whole. But one thing about Zen Buddhism is that by inculcating oneself to practicing it, one does not advertantly observe phenomena with the desire to understand it with a `Zen view`.
The central idea encompassing the adherence to Zen Buddhism is that one aspires to develop one`s person to become spontaneous as far as perceiving the world around oneself and/or to react to it is concerned. As you infered in your text, a follower of Zen Buddhism trains oneself to view his/her surroundings using a ``no-mind`` state. Such a method of gaining knowledge of one`s external world is associated with that of a child`s which has not learned enough to realize that he/she is a sentient being.
So while to understand oneself with the goal of granting oneself significance to the world around us or to understand oneself as a sentient being isolated from the bounds of space and time is of paramount importance to attaining spiritual growth, following Zen Buddhism one does not attempt to do it consciously. But rather trains oneself to become spontaneous and to understand phenomena and noumena with a direct perception of the mind and let the reality reveal its own self within one`s mind.
Peace!

Very interesting, never thought that ``Zen`` would have its roots in sub continent. Every day pearls of wisdom like , ``aqal nai tay moojaan i moojan`` can be both delightful and profound.

Calm is in our soul and little we see there because it`s ours. We seek for that is not ours. This is the basic reason for the restlessness ( BECHAENI)
Let`s try to find out it.

Well its the second post I am thinking best suited for i-log. Well dont take it harshly, but these are thoughts a person recollects when sees meaning of words in dictionary.
Anyways,
Chowk Staff should be responsible than the writer.

interesting connection of chinese chan and urdu chaen, we should all practise more chaen, i really enjoyed this light piece, personally speaking the world just goes still sometimes and there are no days, no months, but at other times, time is counted in units of seconds, the chaen is usually always there fortunately, maybe its about being a bit melancholy always, and then the depression never happens
