``oos nay kuch kaha

Why not call it ``takraar``, as opposed to ``pyar`` defined by Sahir as follows:
jaane kya too ne kahee
jaane kya mein ne sunee
baat kuchh ban hee gayee

temporal,
...... i have given up on poetry and poets since i started a crusade against god and a jihad against his son, not to mention a little side skirmish with the elephant-nosed one .............. once these big evils are vanquished, i will return to the pesky poets - mere mosquitoes !
........... so little time, so many fights to fight :
chadar meri chal muchali
tusi baran, tey mein ik akali
me and my crazy shawl are all alone
there are twelve of you and i am all alone
regards ........

men of marble
suffer pigeon droppings

who ever heard
of the famished
fretting over carbs
firearms

no, people kill
pity, no one asks the dead
loved them heh!

Hiding three more hotlinks within a hotlink; that was clever:)
Yes, there are all kinds of ngos, and within ngos there are all kinds of people, even some serving their masters while serving their clients; that`s why medicins sans frontiers had to close their office in afghanistan to protect their workers as well as their reputation.

Himayat Ali is a very strong proponent of haiku poetry in urdu. I didn`t know that he has translated or found equivalent of haiku as salasi, meaning ``triad`` which by the way is perfect. Punjabi language has a very ancient tradition of salasi and it is called ``tappay``. In a tappa there are three verses; first two sometime are identical and sometimes are meaningless; they are only used to rhyme with the last verse. An example that comes to mind is Ataullah Khan Isakhelvi`s diamond jubilee, ``Theva`` which goes like this:
Theva
eh mudri da theva
saari umar karaN gi teri seva.
tr:
Stone
Stone in my ring
I`ll serve you all my life.

…i was hoping you and hamidm would show up here and enjoy at the least one or two of these triads…why?…because both of you have complained in the past about not understanding (my) poetry …;)…thanks for liking them…hamidm, I notice is busy slaying God and gods and goddesses elsewhere…
…these ternary verses or triads are not an innovation…it has been attempted in both Hindi and Urdu poetry before…and if memory serves me right janab himayat ali shaer has published a book of his ternary verses called salasi in Urdu…

soundmeister
thanks…familiarity, as mark twain said once, breeds contempt and children…shall i now add comments?;)…
…the ternary verses contained truisms and homilies we are all familiar with to some extent…there, that word!
…pls. read my response to dost-mittar re: NGOs

kal
kaunsi kal?
jO guzar gaee
ya jO aa’aye gi?
...Hmmmm Ironic and Threatning . At the same time blessing for tomorrow.
firearms
guns kill
no, people kill
pity, no one asks the dead
People ask the dead, but technology has so empowered men and its freedom to use and sabotage. People do go into shocks.
The reason behind this behavior that you have mentioned is that destruction ratio is much bigger than its stoppage. Level of justice has falled. So immunity level of people to accidents and incidents is developing higher then towards peace and tranquility. Security zones are not solution to the problem. Balka men disarmnemt and their belief to be at peace should be a main objective.

Hi t:
I guess a trip to the homeland does make one more cynical. I agree with soundmeister`s disagreement over ngos, I have seen medicins sans border with their backpacks at the airports, they were not looking forward to any a/c tents.
....and where`s the urdu version?

t,
a little cynical compared to your usual stuff huh? Also, if you`ll forgive me, a trifle derivative. Surely not all these are original? (sound very familiar)
but a good read, nevertheless. particularly liked

who ever heard

fretting over carbs
firearms
guns kill
no, people kill
pity, no one asks the dead
politicians/NGOs
over roast lamb
in a/c tents
they discuss poverty
(the last one I don`t agree with, but I like anyway!)
