Dreams
Other dreams? I dream of so many good things, so many projects, do-able, achievable things, and when I wake up, resolving to see that dream through, it falls apart. Blankness is all I am left with. Guess it’s more to do with my laziness. I fail to write/note down ideas, thoughts…and once the moment is lost. It’s lost. But yes, dreams can be an insight, the sub conscious taking charge as we sleep, and trying to tell us of our hidden potential, our capabilities. Positions we could rise to only if we tried, if we get up.
On another note, there was a riddle quite often asked (and being the dumbo that I am, I never got right): God is all knowing, all seeing, but He can’t see just one thing. What is that? You guessed it: Dreams, ‘cuz God never sleeps.

As a child I had a recurring nightmare and I can still recollect it in all its clarity. Now, I can feel how my sub conscious had conjured up that particular sequence of happenings.Other dreams? Yawn. Look at what you`ve done now. I had just shook off Sandman`s effect.
But yes, we are all free to dream, its only waking up to realise our dreams taht matters most.
RE: ballukhan: Yes, let`s all dream of better, humane times.
On your marks, get set, go!

NFP: What exactly do you identify with? Is it Marxism? or Liberalism? Secularism...Anarchism. Save for the lattest, all other schools are somewhat mindful of human societies, Anarchism devaites from all modicum of sanity in societal values, differing from norm for the sake of differing. Anarchists are basically attention-craving otherwise neglected individuals (losers) who have nothing better to do or think that ferment disorder and make life difficult for others.
I wont say anything abt Ms. hashmi for i have yet to see her in action and ascertain all waht is said about her. But i am severely disturbed by what you have to say about Hijab. How can you say such a thing? if you are even an ounce of the liberal you so try so hard to come across as, you will know that letting everyone express themselves is teh cornerstone of Liberalism...as long as it does not threaten the peace of those around. you cant lump together all forms of religious/group/societal/cultural expressions.
the french have nothing at all to say about homosexualism which is a deviation from the norm but they can make a law and ban headscarves. who are they to decide what one wears and not? and how can that be called progressive if it prevents someone from expressing their will?
Nothing should be forced. taking up hijab or giving it up. No one has the right to do such a thing. Least of all you, with your NFP views: Not Fit for Public views. :P

Between Musharraf and Mullahs—Who Won?
the Pakistani is everyone to go against the wishes of the paki ppl, who btw dont know what they want themselves only because one army man after the other had hijacked the country and its intellectual growth process to ensure all succeeding generations were witless, dumbos mistaking men in khakis as an answer to the country`s perennial misgovernace problems. However if you look at a history of who ruled the land more, elected ones of couped installed rulers (read army men) it wud be clear where the misgovernance springs from. democracy is not given time enough, in this God Forsaken country, to weed out the remnants of autocratic ruling culture...oh, the elected class of today, itself is a remnant of `generalled` days of yore

Prior to this lambasting of Pakistani parliamentarians, Mr. Galadari had interviewed PM Jamali in Islamabad. One wonders why anyone at all would comment on the internal affairs of the parliament of any country? What sprang to my mind was just that the khaki clad govt of Pakistan had found yet another way to instill its idea of democracy into those who reside outside of it.
``They are an impatient lot. They don`t want to wait. If some other party is in power they don`t want to wait till the completion of its term. They are always in a hurry to capture power. ``
these lines, exactly from the peice, do they not ring true for the army? in the original context, it was mentioned that the opposition was an unruly bunch of people.
Towards the end, Mr. Galadari mentions ``Wherever it happens - whether in Pakistan or anywhere else - it is bad for the reputation of that country and an insult to the institution of democracy.``
Repeated Coups, Martial Laws, sham referendums, puppet government bring Pakistan into disrepute in the comity of nations. When Parliamentarians exercise their right of protest, on a forum they were elected for by the people of Pakistan, they add insult to the institution of democracy.`` But army jumps in the play, overthrows govts. democratically elected again, that works wonders for democracy...
Just the kind of reasoning you would expect from a MLs, only this time Mush and his cronies managed to hook a big influential fish...

irrespective of what a lot many of us feel about Pres. Mush, the truth is that the man sure nows how to get all the right people on international fora in his favour. Look at this Comment by Mohammed A.R. Galadari the Editor-in-Chief of UAEbased Khaleej Times:http://www.khaleejtimes.com/DisplayArticle.asp?xfile=data/comment/2003/October/comment_October20.xml§ion=comment

Do Foes of Gay Marriages Simply Fear Joy?
Had gayism solely because out of natural preference, it could have been dealt with, but these days ppl are turning to it out of fashion...it has become a kind of upper rung on the status ladder everyone wants to climb...
Just the same as flaunting one`s religious beliefs and intolerance has become flavor du jour...if we could just leave ppl to their own...and not try to influence other/young/impressionable minds to take up what most think is wrong to start with...
if you are lost in here, lemme say, so am I...but i am certain of just one thing in my life:
``Show us the straight path; the path of those whom Thou hath favored; Not the path of those who rean Thine anger; nor of those who go astray``

Foes of same sex marriages have just one thing to fear...that acceptance of it would lead to erosion of straight practices. Being gay or a lesbian is about sexual orientation, something which is frowned upon by all religions. Ancient Sodomites were wiped off the face of this earth because they went astray. There is a right way to do things and there is a wrong way. Had gayism solely because out of natural preference, it could have been dealt with, but these days ppl are turning to it out of fashion...it has become a kind of upper rung on the status ladder everyone wants to climb...

I am speechless really...mothers are that way...whatever you do, however nasty you are...they are always there, arms open and welcoming...I miss mommy...it made such a moving read...makes one think what is the point ofliving off shore, making all that money if you are not with your near and dear ones to spend it on and with...may be I should return to Pakistan...no point in living this life of exile...God! now I am about to cry...and then again, I know it for a fact my mother does that too, so many times a day, as she raises her hands in prayers...prayers for my safety, away from her... - aaisha
