I feel so dumb.
The Discovery

LadyAna, your ramblings don`t make any sense at all. First you tell us that this is an actual experience and that you went to a school where 50% were homos including the professors. Why would a person exposed to homosexual people react in a way that Sana did?.

Just doesn`t make sense.

seems like the author just stepped off PIA Flight 717 at JFK for the first time in her life and started writing this play.
What a waste of chowk space. If Chowk publishes another such piece, I will delete Chowk`s bookmark from my explorer. I mean it.
The April Fool Referendum
Posted by aziz786 Aug 23, 2002 01:09 pm
WHy do we have to follow the Western style of democracy?. It has never worked for any of the developing countries. Musharraf is introducing a NEW kind of democracy that really works for a country like Pakistan.

This is democracy in the true sense since it gives army a say in the decision making alongwith the elected body. That is what the General meant when he said ``For army to stay out, it has to stay in``. Musharraf said that in one year as COAS (Chief Of Army Staff) under Ganja, he was called in the secretariat 150 days. Now, tell me if Army was not already playing a role under a civilian govt?.

I don`t care what the West says about this type of democracy but it works for Pakistan.

I am amazed at people who are against Musharraf`s policies. You folks complain of him as if things before him were working fine and he just came and disturbed Pakistan`s progress. Wake up and smell the coffee.

I believe given the circumstances he is doing the best he can. But he cannot change it all in one day or one term for that matter.

As far as militarizing the country is concerned, I think for the army to stay out, it has to stay in. Get it?

Happy 5th Birthday Chowk !

Sometimes I wonder how Chowk has managed to survive amid the slowdown in internet advertising spending. I have noticed a decrease in the frequency of new articles being posted.

I would like to know what are Chowk`s plans for survival and if there is anything I/WE can do as readers of Chowk.

Stay Happy!

Aziz

Happy 56th Anniversary, Pakistan and India

Ras, you are right. It is the 55th. But trust me, this article will apply to the 56th or 156th anniversary for that matter.

Stump Fight at the OK Headingley

Nice piece!

Now I understand why do they have those huge iron grill fences in stadiums all over Pakistan. I guess it doesn`t matter where we are born or brought up. There are a handful in every crowd that are determined to spoil the fun for all. But having watched all the matches of the Natwest series, it wasn`t just a handfull.

And the beer can missile fired at the players balcony after the final at Lord`s was an icing on the cake. That idiot should be fully prosecuted.

I had always wanted to go watch a game in an English ground. I am not so sure anymore.

Demolition Derby

I am not sure who assigned you to writing cricket match reports but you sure s * *k at it.

The rule used for rain affected matches is called ``Duckworth Lewis`` rule and it would have made a lot of sense for you to mention that in this report since it was used. And your comment that ``I am not sure how they do the calculations but man that does not sound right to me`` tells it all. You sure don`t understand because you never read the D/L method to begin with.

I would suggest you give up reporting cricket matches and just stick to reading weekly sports column in Urdu Times.

Fielding @ Deep Point,

Aziz.

A Kiss on the Cheek
Posted by aziz786 Mar 20, 2001 11:45 am
OK, now that you`ve revealed it is fiction, I must say, it was of poor quality.

As far as your being over joyed at Chowk`s publishing your article, I wouldn`t wet my pants yet. They usually publish anything that has a ``kiss`` in the title.

Keep dreaming.

A Kiss on the Cheek

For someone who did not speak a word or had any action on their wedding night, kissing cheeks in the company of family members is sure a big step towards a happy marriage life.

PS. I smell an element of ``lapaiting`` here. The author, it seems, is still stuck between his thoughts.
