he latest “revelation” from Islamabad is that the terrorists who spilled innocent blood in Murree and Taxila this month belonged to only one organisation, the banned anti-Shia sectarian outfit Lashkar-e-Jhangvi. Earlier, the murder of Daniel Pearl was also officially pinned on the LJ. The curious thing is that only a year ago, the LJ was not officially centre-stage. It was said to be a “peripheral” organisation that allegedly focused only on sectarianism while the other well-known militias were busy fighting for Islam well beyond the neighbourhood. But now we have been informed that the LJ has been up to other kinds of terrorism too, that the LJ was closely associated with al-Qaeda and received money from OBL. The name of a new organization, al-Umar, cropped up lately but was suppressed because the policy is to dump everything on the LJ, thereby making it the fall guy for others who are not to be targeted for one reason of state or another.
The terrorist network may be much bigger and wider in Pakistan than is suggested by this focus on the LJ. But one reason why the LJ is being isolated and attacked is to create the perception that the government is winning the war against terrorism and we can relax. The LJ’s founder, Riaz Basra, has been knocked off by the police and his successor, Akram Lahori, is in custody, singing like a canary. But we can’t help wondering whether this singing is on the basis of a musical score that is intended to save the necks of a lot of people, including the “handlers” who had convinced the people of Pakistan that the Jihad was “pure and spiritual”. The LJ was “separated” from its parent organisation but two other jihadi organisations have sprung from the same parent and are now under global ban as terrorists. Are these organisations separate entities or are they the footprints of an extremely protean single entity strongly entrenched inside the organs of the Pakistani state? Here’s a frightening glimpse of the length and breadth of the interconnections.
As reported in Khabrain, “FBI and Pakistani intelligence agencies arrested an Egyptian Arab named Hisham al-Wahid from Saudi Arabia and brought him to Pakistan. He guided the agencies to Gaggar Phatak in Karachi from where, behind the police station in a garage, three activists of Jaish-e-Muhammad and two of Lashkar-e-Jhangvi were arrested. These activists belonged to Sargodha and had been trained at the Akora Khattak seminary of Maulana Samiul Haq. These activists then guided the police to a bungalow in Gulshan-e-Hadeed in Steel Town from where the police arrested one Iraqi and two Yemeni Arabs. All of them belonged to Al Qaeda and were working in a poultry farm owned by a man from Nazimabad. The three Arabs spoke fluent Urdu, Balochi and Pashto. From them the police recovered three satellite mobile phones, two laptop computers, four ordinary computers, four mobile phones, four sub-machine guns and six magazines. The police also searched Mujahid Colony Nazimabad and arrested Rafeequl Islam of Sipah Sahaba. It recovered cassettes showing Mullah Umar and Osama bin Laden and books on jihad from Nazimabad. Rafeequl Islam acted as a communications man for the jihadi network in Karachi. The same day the police discovered a large cache of arms and rocket launchers of Russian make from Kachra Mandi behind UBL Sports Complex.”
Obviously, it isn’t just the LJ that is connected with OBL and al-Qaeda. All three persons freed from Indian jails after the Kandahar hijacking of an Indian airliner two years ago went on to acquire their own militias, with Umar Saeed Sheikh leading the Jaish after its leader’s arrest. Two of them are now in Pakistani jails and the third one is getting interviews published in Pakistan from somewhere in Kashmir, but his militia, al-Umar, is emerging as OBL’s fourth proxy. After the Murree carnage, one leader of a banned militia was reportedly arrested because he was found traveling in the area at the time of the terrorist strike. Whoever got the report of his arrest printed in the press also volunteered the additional information that he was being kept under house arrest. The truth of the matter is that his “handlers” had let him live in opulence with the money he got from OBL (Osama’s gift to him of a dozen double-cabin pickup trucks was reported by the press). The Murree killings were so blatant that it was decided to make a show of arresting him. No one cared to look at the contradiction that if the man was under comfortable house arrest in Islamabad, how could he be found driving in the vicinity of Murree?
This subject is not closed. A British organisation says it has proof that over US $1 billion were sent annually from the United Kingdom to the organisations led by these gentlemen. Even if a fraction of this money was sent, we have a serious problem on our hands. With judges inclined to run away from cases involving these jihadis and the state continuing to adopt a hands-off policy for dubious reasons of “national security”, the problem of terrorism in Pakistan is far from being tackled in a meaningful way.

Where Freedom Reigns
By THOMAS L. FRIEDMAN
ANGALORE, India —
The more time you spend in India the more you realize that this teeming, multiethnic, multireligious, multilingual country is one of the world`s great wonders — a miracle with message. And the message is that democracy matters.
This truth hits you from every corner. Consider Bangalore, where the traffic is now congested by all the young Indian techies, many from the lower-middle classes, who have gotten jobs, apartments — and motor scooters — by providing the brainpower for the world`s biggest corporations. While the software designs of these Indian techies may be rocket science, what made Bangalore what it is today is something very simple: 50 years of Indian democracy and secular education, and 15 years of economic liberalization, produced all this positive energy.
Just across the border in Pakistan — where the people have the same basic blood, brains and civilizational heritage as here — 50 years of failed democracy, military coups and imposed religiosity have produced 30,000 madrassahs — Islamic schools, which have replaced a collapsed public school system and churn out Pakistani youth who know only the Koran and hostility toward non-Muslims.
No, India is not paradise. Just last February the Hindu nationalist B.J.P. government in the state of Gujarat stirred up a pogrom by Hindus against Muslims that left 600 Muslims, and dozens of Hindus, dead. It was a shameful incident, and in a country with 150 million Muslims — India has the largest Muslim minority in the world — it was explosive. And do you know what happened?
Nothing happened.
The rioting didn`t spread anywhere. One reason is the long history of Indian Muslims and Hindus living together in villages and towns, sharing communal institutions and mixing their cultures and faiths. But the larger reason is democracy. The free Indian press quickly exposed how the local Hindu government had encouraged the riots for electoral purposes, and the national B.J.P. had to distance itself from Gujarat because it rules with a coalition, many of whose members rely on Muslim votes to get re-elected. Democracy in India forces anyone who wants to succeed nationally to appeal across ethnic lines.
``Even when Gujarat was burning, practically the whole of India was at peace — that is the normal pattern here,`` said Syed Shahabuddin, editor of Muslim India, a monthly magazine, and a former Indian diplomat. ``India is a democracy, and more than that, India is a secular democracy, at least in principle, and it does maintain a certain level of aspiration and hope for Muslims. . . . If there were no democracy in India, there would be chaos and anarchy, because so many different people are aspiring for their share of the cake.`` It is precisely because of the ``constitutional framework here,`` added Mr. Shahabuddin, that Indian Muslims don`t have to resort to terrorism as a minority: ``You can always ask for economic and political justice here.``
It is for all these reasons that the U.S. is so wrong not to press for democratization in the Arab and Muslim worlds. Is it an accident that India has the largest Muslim minority in the world, with plenty of economic grievances, yet not a single Indian Muslim was found in Al Qaeda? Is it an accident that the two times India and Pakistan fought full-scale wars, 1965 and 1971, were when Pakistan had military rulers? Is it an accident that when Pakistan has had free elections, the Islamists have never won more than 6 percent of the vote?
Is it an accident that the richest man in India is an Indian Muslim software entrepreneur, while the richest man in Pakistan, I will guess, is from one of the 50 feudal families who have dominated that country since its independence? Is it an accident that the only place in the Muslim world where women felt empowered enough to demand equal prayer rights in a mosque was in the Indian city of Hyderabad? No, all of these were products of democracy. If Islam is ever to undergo a reformation, as Christianity and Judaism did, it`s only going to happen in a Muslim democracy.
People say Islam is an angry religion. I disagree. It`s just that a lot of Muslims are angry, because they live under repressive regimes, with no rule of law, where women are not empowered and youth have no voice in their future. What is a religion but a mirror on your life?
Message from India to the world: Context matters — change the political context within which Muslims live their lives and you will change a lot.

``Which elements? Everyone knows about the low turnout at such polls. Besides, how involved would the Hurriyat itself be in an election process where the state machinery would be working against it? Lone was a terrorist from the outset. He made it clear that he had no truck with the Indian government. So, how on earth is he being deemed a moderate voice? Or do we have different standards for dead separatists, so that a cleavage can be created among those who will fight for the spoils of unsolicited martyrdom?``
I dont think you are aware of the recent developments in the APHC.... and even the not so recent ones .... The Central Indian govt has been asking the APHC to show that they have peoples support by fighting elections (as opposed to exploding bombs ...duh!!!)
There was a meeting in Dubai.... the rift between the different Hurriyat views was out. Lone was one of them who believed making this an Islamic cause and fighting a Jihad was not his cup of tea. He has always believed in Kashmir being independant and not part of the Indian Union. However, he has insisted on Kashmiriyat being is reason as opposed to Islamism/Kafir issue. He (the terrorist) was considering fighting elections to prove his public support....
Strange that your ``Perfect Murder`` article does not mention any of this....
There are plenty of voices within APHC who have been warning anybody against fighting the elections.... The Islamists have every reason to prevent this election from happening .... especially when DEMOCRACY and its machinations mean SOOO much to the West and the rest of the WOrld today.. How can you ignore this whole (CENTRAL) aspect around Lones murder.
selective reading on your part .... hmmmm.....
aap kehnaa kyaa chaahtee haiN ? Why not just say it ... instead of giving incomplete (albeit correct ) information and trying to force the reader to come to your ``green goggled`` conclusions .....

DOnt throw smoke screens ....
It is irrelevant what newspapers people read in India atleast to the discussion I am trying to have with (Allah knows why - when you would rather just nuke me !)
I am pointing to all these newspapers for YOUR benefit and to expose YOUR lies. The Indian newspapers are reporting the SAME that BBC, UK Newspapers, US newspapers and the rest of the Kafir world newspapers are reporting. It is soooo clear to understand what happened and the sequence of events ..... but you do not want to understand it.
I do realize you are bound by the ``Theory of parallel (not so) Relative Muslim Reality`` and are having trouble defining what ``terrorism`` is.... (hey was the Karachi attack in which they killed French Kafirs terrorism - ok lets not digress OR when ISI controlled Taliban killed non Pashtuns was that legitimate Jihad or Terrorism - lets not digress I guess) Well all of the so called ``Muslim world`` is having this trouble. As we have been shown time and time again by the Mujahids (followed by lies by other Muslims denying or making excuses for it) the Jihad is a way to USE ANY means to achieve a ``supposedly`` just BUT VERY VERY DIVINE cause.....(preferebly with death, bullets, blood, hijack, explosions, suicide, etc.)
Not just people in India, every Kafir facing the brunt of Jihad everywhere (even the people getting singled out for extra frisking in airplane lines) are saying Allah O Akbar. Indeed, in the words of the exalted Sheikh Osama Bin (explosive) Laden - ``there will be no human rights anywhere`` - just self determination with loud detonation by Mujahhids....
Now what is it you are having trouble believing:
- that terrorists killed people on a bus
- that terrorists killed civilians in the residential quarters of the Indian Army
- that they boarded a bus
- that they were Muslims
- that they killed the people in the bus (by your accounts) in 5 minutes
- that they lobbed a grenade at the bus
- that the ISI backs these attacks and these terrorists
- that they were heavily armed
- that after killing some alighting passengers and, subsequently, lobbying a grenade at the bus they charged towards the residential quarters and the canteen
- that this happened early in the morning
- that any of this happened at all
In the name of Allah - the Merciful, what are these so called Kafir lies you are supposedly uncovering.
what are these irelevant pieces of information you are putting out:
``then the bus must be at least ½ a kilometer away from the cantonment, since it takes about 5 minutes to pace so much distance with weapon, ammo, grenades, and rocket launchers on ones back..... blah blah`` - What does this have to do with anything ?
``If we accept this version that the people aboard the bus died in a cross-fire then there can`t be a line up and shoot out of the passengers....blah blah ``
WHY CANT there be both ? And why cant you believe what EVERY kafir newspaper and Kafir government in the world is printing ?
``On the contrary if we accept that the bus was just at the gates of the cantonment then the lining up of passengers and shooting them out doesn’t make sense.``
Why cant you believe that they asked the passengers to alight and when the guards staring at them at 6 AM through their morning power nap started waking up they opened fire at the people getting off the bus and lobbed a grenade at it... fired at the sentries and charged towareds the residential quarters .....
WOW..... har bala sar pe aa jaaye

Why are you lying again ?
did you go read the links I told you to, from global (albeit kafir) newspapers in news.yahoo.com. I dont think so. Does it matter that every independant country`s newspapers (again albeit kafir countries) are reporting the same (totally opposite from your ``Muslim Reality``) I dont think so....
at least you admit the ``lie`` about 15 minutes (praise be to Allah - the merciful for that !)
You do not know my ``religion`` so dont speculate. I am a kafir and lets just leave it at that. I believe organized religions are a crime towards humanity.
The newspapers clearly lay out the facts. The ``Theory of parallel (not so) relative Muslim reality`` will always be different. So the 3 Mujahids will get 36 (chalo 72 houris) in heaven with wine..... I hope that makes you happy.

The newspapers clearly lay out the facts. The ``Theory of parallel (not so) relative Muslim reality`` will always be different. So the 3 Mujahids will get 36 (chalo 72 houris) in heaven with wine..... I hope that makes you happy.

Uhh...NO
Lets not forget about terrorists.....
they target us Kafirs....you may beleive in some divine afterlife rewards for dying in the way of Jihad...I dont.
I am merely doing ``cyber Jihad``...hint: no loud explosion, death, blood, bullets, missiles in my cyber Jihad...very different than the ``death worshipping`` ``human sacrificing`` suicide squads...think about it ....for Allah - the mercifuls sake !!!!
As far as me being pathetic, hey, you are welcome to your opinions.

Uh - oh you look like a victim of the ``THeory of (not very) Relative Muslim Reality``....
In any case, I dont think numbers matter do they ? not to me at least ....and why is your sample size chowk...

``How is uncle Thakeray doing??``
Unfortunately, he is still around. Although his henchman Chota Rajan (former right hand man of Dawood Bhai) is behind bars :-)
``And chacha Advani?? ``
Chacha Advani is doing well... he is in the News all the time.. (kafir newspapers bhi padaa karieN then you could keep abreast of his exploits yourself) He is still going strong with his dream of reclaiming his ancestral Karachi from which he was at one time ``etnically cleansed``
``And hope your fellow Indian muslims in Gujerat are enjoying getting beaten by the secular mobs.``
I dont think they are. ANd the mobs are not very secular are they ? (again Kafir newspapers bhi padaa kareiN)
``Or thrashed any uppity Dalits lately??``
Cant say I have. And the thought never occured to me either.
BUT what is your point ? Such an emotional (from jeering at riot victims to other oppressed downtrodded people) response just cause I poked some fun at your neighbout and countryman Dawood Bhai....are you already on D-Comany`s payroll or is he just such a National Hero for you.....

Removed From Reality
hey Shakir, haven`t you realized already that ``Muslim Reality`` is different and hence ``removed`` from the other ``Reality`` (that is Kafir reality... I will let Brother Progresssive explain that to you)
Hey Shiekh Progressive, Brother, give this guy some of your ``THeory of (not very) Relative Muslim Reality`` , will ya....start with WTC massacre being engineered by Kafir GW Bush and Mossad....that is bound to convince him.
Levels of delusion Muslims live in and the ``Theory of (not very) Relative Muslim Reality`` are so ridiculous that I would find them funny if didn`t mean Nukes hitting me soon, or me blowing up in a plane, or some people just ``self determinating`` with loud ``detonation``......
But then nothing should be beyond humour, should it ? ...despite what my ``enlightened self interest`` keeps trying to tell me.

Hey now....
I am no fan of Indira Gandhi.... she was authoritarian and we are still paying for her repeated attempts of making India ``Republic of Indira``.... study Kashmir, Punjab, Bangladesh and you will see the mistakes she made.
However, the war awaits us..... in true Indian spirit we will just wait for Terroristanis to launch nukes at us....this is inevitable.... that is the way of Jihad. USE ANY MEANS to achieve a ``supposedly`` just AND ``VERY VERY DIVINE`` cause.(maal-e-ganimat - looting and plundering of wealth and women, booze and chics thrown in to rev up up the testorone of the Mujahids). And this latest report about Musharraf at the brink of a Nuclear attack is just more frightening.
Now if the Indian army, has no such inspiration and is not controlled by the Hindutva-vaadis. If it were, then you could say this in reverse as well. Afterall, the Hindutva-vaadis, in trying to counter Islamism, end up emulating and getting inspired by the very Islamists that they seek to eradicate. Unfortunately these idiots prey on the down trodden of their OWN society cause they aren`t helped by the government to go across the border.... but then the Indian govt will start looking like the ISI....
its all very messed up..... just sit back and wait for the nukes, I guess !!

Brother, what nonsense...the Hindu/Zionist/Christian aka Satan nexxus has fed you this nonsense. Kanjar is a tribe of people like I pointed out. It is an old indigenous tribe of Dravidian stock (did you go to google.com and search for ``kanjar tribe`` like I asked you to). NO.... you dont get it. This kind of thinking will get you nowhere. NO 2 WRONGS MAKE A RIGHT. If I were to resort to JUSTIFYING (sic! - or even making excuses for) the KKK like burning of people by Hindutva Parivar related outfits by pointing out all the persecution Muslims inflict on Kafirs (from 7th Centiry to the Global Jihad going on at present) THEN you could reach such conclusions.....
BUt a wrong is a wrong is a wrong....
And with a humanist outlook I can do cyber Jihad against Islamism for I detest the kind of Jihad that is being inflicted on ALL kafirs anywhere just cause we are kafirs. And yeah not all Muslims are terrorists BUT a lot of Muslims are doing terrorism in the name of Islam. As you being a Muslim, obvioulsy only care about the UMMAH, you only see what the Hindutva forces have done and are doing in India over the last 10 years. Neither justifies the other. Study what they both have to say and they are both soooo much alike, that it is scary. and again Kafir khatre meiN hai.
till then as we go about our business and get increasingly harassed when we fly, travel all I say is Allah O Akbar ......

whew !! I missed this one ...you say
``Logically, it also seems incredible that if a fighter had planned to attack a military installation, he would alert people at the base by shooting civilians 15 minutes before the actual operation outside the base.``
Why are you lying ? where do you get this 15 minutes from ? Your link below is bogus (no 15 minutes in there !!) . Go back to yahoo and read the story from newspapers around the world (mostly kafir world)
THe Independant says
``Passengers on the bus from the Himalayan hill station of Kulu assumed that the three men in combat fatigues who boarded six miles from the Pakistan border were Indian soldiers. When the bus stopped outside an army base and the men ordered the passengers to stand, they assumed it was a routine search. But then the men opened fire, killing seven.
Armed with Kalashnikov assault rifles and hand grenades, they then blasted their way into the camp, six miles south of the city of Jammu in the state of Jammu and Kashmir, and headed for the soldiers` residential quarters. By the time soldiers shot them dead, at least 30 people had been killed including several women and 10 children. Another 48 were injured.``
the Washinton Post says
``The attack began at dawn when three gunmen in combat uniforms boarded an interstate bus and forced the driver to stop it at an army camp on the outskirts of the city of Jammu``
``As the passengers got off the bus, the gunmen opened fire and threw a grenade,(SOURCE OF THE BIG HOLE IN BUS !!! DUH) killing seven people. Then they made their way into the army camp, hurling more grenades and shooting at soldiers, according to an army spokesman here.``
Now what is soooo perplexing about this ? Check with your local mosque about ``bus terrorism`` I am sure they will have some manuals there..right next to ``shoe-bombing``
alternatively,
Please go to yahoo news and read all the newspapers again. Snap out of this delusion.... for Allah`s sake.

``Last night at Z-TV the Indian officials were showing the bus on which the Kashmiri freedom fighters are being accused of firing.``
just like ``freedom fighters`` blow things up in Pakistan...I take it you are still one of those trying to define ``terrorism`` for yourself :-)
According to Z-TV and Hindustan times below, the fighters were travelling on the same bus. Then they lined up the passengers at a certain area near the cantonment and shot 7 of them.``
duh ... yeah this is the oldest trick in the terrorism game...yeh khel hi saara dar ka hai...make examples out of a few hostages who could start trouble ---check your Jihad manual it has to be in there
``The bus is shown bullet ridden, hit from outside (as the bending of metal suggests), which means that the fighetrs must have lined up passengers agaisnt the bus and started shooting.``
NO... you did not understand the part of the terrorists firing at the camp from inside the bus. and did you get a divine dream telling you that they lined up the passengers against the bus and not facing away... I mean can you point a reference to a quote from a holy book or Jihad manual or something ;-) please .....
``Once you line up people, a burst of AK-47 is enough to kill at least 30 (magazine contains 30 bullets and AK-47 shoots 6 bullets per second)... and when three gunmen are shooting then.....``
Good Jihadi...reads his manuals !!
`` One of the hole (about a foot wide) on the side of the bus suggested that it was hit by an un-exploded projectile from an RPG-7 (shoulder fired bazooka), that also does not corroborate the line up and shoot out.``
DUH .... because the bullets in the bus are NOT related to killing of passengers. DO you really expect an army unit being fired at from inside a bus not to be fired back at ? I mean the bus could have explosives. (just like when ``Allah KidaaN`` struck in Karachi with a bus)
Wow the level of delusion some Muslims live in .... the creativity you show in denouncing reality and creating parallel truths is amazing.
do you really believe that you can use ANY MEANS to achieve a SUPPOSEDLY just cause ? Jihad is really really scary, especially for us Kafirs ...

I take objection to your proposing the name ``Kanjiristan`` for Terroristan !!!!
How could a ``caste gaali`` (kanjar is a tribe - of people in North and North West India and present day Pakistan - hence used as a derogatory term by some - many of these tribes were enslaved into prostitution, etc.) like Kanjar figure in the name of the ``Islamic Republic of Terroristan`` ?(search ``kanjar tribe derogatory`` on google.com and read, if you have any more questions)
Sir, It would be ``un-islamic``, though ironic, yet non ``progressive``, to say the least.
