Pakistan at Sixty
Posted by aslam644 Nov 17, 2007 01:17 am
I know some commies went crazy after the demise of soviet union, but I didn’t know ali was one of them until I read this article.

“They were convinced that Basit was a terrorist who should have been kept in prison indefinitely, as he certainly would have been in Britain or the US.”

You should know better than this to write this crap, or is the hatred of capitalist west getting the better of you, there is a rule of law in britain no one can be kept in prison indefinitely, even the brit-muslim detainees of gauntanamo have been released.
The Battle for Pakistan

I can’t believe some people are advising imran khan to quit politics, we don’t want him to quit what we want is dozens more like imran khan. To break the stranglehold of mullahs and feudals, we need educated middle class men and women to enter politics if we are to have a thriving democracy.

This bloody cousin marriage business is getting out of hand, its leading to people being murdered.

“
Girlfriend 'killed pregnant wife'

A pregnant teenager was stabbed to death in her bedroom in a ferocious and sustained attack by her husband's secret lover, a court heard. Harmohinder Kaur Sanghera, of Solihull, West Midlands, stabbed her boyfriend's wife in "jealousy and desperation", Manchester Crown Court heard. Sana Ali, 17, of Bury, Greater Manchester, received 42 wounds. The court heard Ms Sanghera, who denies murder, had been having an affair with Mrs Ali's husband Sair since July 2005. Mr Peter Wright QC, prosecuting, told the court that the relationship continued despite the Alis' arranged marriage in December last year. Stabbed in stomach Mr Wright said Mrs Ali's murderer had deliberately lifted her top and stabbed her in her abdomen at her Throstle Grove home. She was 11 weeks pregnant. "The deeply personal element points unhappily, and unequivocally, to the identity of the killer being the defendant," he said. He said the relationship between Mr Ali and Ms Sanghera, a 23-year-old dentistry student in Birmingham, ended after the attack in May this year. Mrs Ali was born in Pakistan and had been considered to marry her cousin who was also a Shia Muslim, the court heard.
Mr Ali and Ms Sanghera, a Sikh known as Mindy, started a relationship in 2005, but hid it from his parents. Mr Wright said: "He did not tell the defendant he was engaged to be married. "As the relationship became more serious Sair used religion as a pretence for a reason why it could not last." In December 2006 when Mr Ali got married Ms Sanghera became suspicious and Mr Ali told her he was engaged. In March Mr Ali told her his wife was pregnant, but Ms Sanghera said she would become his second wife. The pair had a muta marriage ceremony - a temporary arrangement which means they could live as husband and wife for a specified time. 'Alive and well' The time limit ran out on 16 May - five days after Mrs Ali was killed. On 10 May Ms Sanghera told a friend she was going to end the relationship and tell Mrs Ali about their affair. When arrested, Ms Sanghera told police Mrs Ali let her in after telling her she was an ex-girlfriend of her husband and had sent a teddy bear to him. Ms Sanghera said Mrs Ali was "alive and well, if not a little upset" when she left the house. Mr Wright said: "It is the Crown's case that this was no murder by a random psychopath who happened to pass after Sanghera left. "This was borne of jealousy and desperation." The case continues.

I agree with you all these terms are relative, I wonder what criteria they use when they describe “ developing countries”, “developed countries”, “third world”, “first world”

I am afraid no muslim country has made a successful transition from developing to fully developed, has Taiwan, south korea did within generation or two. It will be a long and hard battle.

There has been some good news lately in the UK, according to the ECONOMIST magazine Bangladeshis are streaking ahead in education, careers etc, but they are still a bit behind Pakistanis if present trends continue they will be on same level as white brits in a decades time, or may be have overtaken them..

The Price of Loving Karl Marx
Posted by aslam644 Nov 1, 2007 01:13 pm
Marx was a very dishonest man who advocated violence. The woman he made pregnant was his maid, was it an affair , or took advantage of her , may be even raped her, he was old enough to be her father.

The question is when a sheikh al-araby makes his Filipino or sri lankan maid pregnant, human rights groups and neo Marxists are up in arms.why is there such double standards.
Curse of Arranged or Forced Marriages

In my experience there is only one group of people who I have come across who tend to believe in classless society as far as marriages are concerned, it’s mirpuris in UK.

I have seen female doctors marry their taxi driver cousins, and male lawyers marry their barely literate cousins from back home.

I don’t think socialist ideas have all been failure, a lot of their ideas were borrowed by the social democrat parties in western Europe. The communists didn’t make any headway in west Europe. Their ideas found resonance in the least developed part of Europe e.g Russia.

One could say the same about the islamist parties in the muslim world as well they only seem to thrive in the least developed parts.

Re: # 27
It has been said, that the reason why “ lady chatterly’s lover “ was banned in the UK was because of the forbidden love across the class divide, not because of pornography as it was claimed by the ruling classes. At one time in the UK love across the class divide was big no, no.

A sexually unfulfilled upper class married woman’s love affair with a lowly gamekeeper. It just isn’t cricket old boy, as they would have said.

In all the years in uk I have not yet met a white couple who have married outside their class, even though there are ostensibly no barriers for them to marry outside their class, there must be some unwritten rules whereby they tend to stick to their own class.

BTW I have met a sikh couple who are first cousins and their’s was a love marriage.
Will President Bush Invade Iran?

I believe it’s oil sands, the report I read is that it’s quite economical to extract oil from it, since prices are so high plus new technology will be even more efficient, that should lower the extraction costs even more. The oil companies face other obstacles, environment groups and inhospitable climate.

According to yesterday’s guardian, canucks have six times as much oil as Saudi Arabia. They will be drowning in the stuff soon, their fort mcmurry is experiencing such a boom the like of which the world’s not seen, it’s attracted workers from over seventy countries, from Romanian prostitutes to Punjabi child minders, some of the workers are earning thousand dollars a day. As the prophesy says for those that have shall have more.
