Based on my previous post #44, I dare to analyze the posters here.

The first plank is that no dirty linen should be on display on this Pakistani site. This goes to the their fascist ideology that I mentioned in my post below.

Dub any critic as “Muslim” because Muslim is the enemy and the Hindu ideology is so superior that only a “Muslim enemy” can speak ill of Hindu.

Then we see a desire and condescending posts to discuss “issues”. If one were to go thru their posts it is quiet obvious that these posters lack any intellectual strength to discuss any issue much less the dalit issues. But the real desire behind their post is:

Then we see some come in and talk about liberal Hindus. When it comes down to caste and untouchables there are no liberal Hindus. How many liberal Hindus have ever lived in untouchable neighborhoods? How many would go down and clean bathrooms with untouchables? Would they clean their own bathrooms themselves in India? Not the European style but the real toilets.

How many times they clean their own bathrooms in the US? Most of their houses have the dirtiest bathrooms for American standards.

The nub of the story is that all of them are racist and shtups of the top order.

Subhash stands on thin ice when he takes the American interpretation of terrorism and applies that to the RSS. The US actually opposes a single interpretation of terrorism in the UN. In the absence of a one good interpretation of terrorism, it is more of a buzzword in the current geopolitical environments than anything else. Previously, the word fascism was extensively used and militant-fringe political ideologies of extreme right were dubbed as fascist. Now, almost the same groups go as terrorist.

Is the RSS terrorist or a fascist outfit as one poster has suggested.

The RSS admin model closely follows the Nazi, or the Italian fascist party set up. In the current world fascism is actually imbibed in an ideology and not in the admin set up of a political party.

What is fascism or the currently popular proto-fascism?

The first characteristic of proto-fascism is a cult of traditions that appeals to varied sectors of the population. And notice that a “cult” — not a respect for tradition, not a reverence for tradition, but a cult, a closed system of absolutes.

The second characteristic is the state of disgrace, a thorough distaste for critical analysis, indeed for criticism of any sort. Criticism threatens the cohesion of those contradictory traditions.

A third characteristic of fascism, related to this anti-intellectualism, is a cult of masculine action. What is important to the fascist is not so much the right or wrong or wisdom of the course one pursues, but that one pursues the course with manly boldness, determined and decisive. Second thoughts, self-doubt, contemplation, questioning, squeamishness, even a desire for more information —these, in the fascist view, all weaken the will and subvert the determination to succeed.

A fourth characteristic is a strange marriage of populism and elitism. We can see that marriage in the popular expression, “We, together, are the best, we are the finest, and we have the right answers, the right action.” But behind this self-congratulating facade of populism is an individualist elitism, a firm belief that only a few people embody the virtues so perfectly that they have a right — and a duty — to be at the head of the body politic. Examined closely, such a view means that the body politic, the populist mass, is regarded with a certain amount of contempt. The mass does not possess the sterling qualities of wisdom and determination embodied in the leadership.
And finally, constant supervision and correction are necessary because of the enemies.

The primary disgrace of fascism is that it cannot survive without enemies.

There are always enemies, an axis of evil within and outside the body politic. But fascist enemies are very strange. They are, like the Nazis’ stereotypical Jew, at one and the same time terribly dangerous and easily defeated.

At bottom, fascism grows in a compost of free-floating anxiety and frustration. It shows a profound need to squelch that anxiety with absolute certainty and mob conformity, and it relieves its frustration with decisive action against the enemies anxiety has created.

The RSS and its followers pretty much fit all the characteristics above. But the RSS is more a religious fundamentalist party than a fascist party. Both are recognized as close cousins.

The RSS like its Nazi cousins has found an enemy in stereotypical Indian Muslim. It seems that the RSS whole politics revolves around Indian Muslims and they ensure that the RSS followers always stay on the message to demean and demonize Muslims generally and Indian Muslims particularly.

How RSS anti Muslim plank impacts dalits? The truth is that in parts of the country RSS and its sister parties like BJP draw strength from dalits too. Its religious shrieks often blind sections of the dalit population to the real face of the RSS.

The RSS seeks to establish a Hindu religious state. A Hindu religious state means re-enforcing of the caste system.

The Hindu religion is a hotchpotch of pagan rituals and in essence its only agreement is on the caste system. The RSS and its followers make hilarious claims about abolishing of castes but the inherent contradiction in their claims and the nature of the Hindu religion makes it just a tactical ploy to gain dalit support against the Muslims.

Hindu religion is NOT reformable therefore; any one who supports converting India into a Hindu fundamentalist state is an enemy of dalits.

The Hindu caste system is another form of racism and apartheid. The racism is part of Hindu genes if “genes” can describe how deeply caste-ism is ingrained in the caste Hindu psyche.

Hindu religion is a complex phenomenon. This religion has no name it was called Hindu religion by the Muslims when they first came to India. Before that, it was a hotchpotch of thousands of rituals that were followed in different parts of India. The only common theme was to maintain the caste system so there are slaves available to work for them in the fields and do the menial chores.

The RSS game is simple it wants to establish a Hindu fundamentalist regime in India. That means the continuation of the caste system and slavery for the untouchables and other minorities.

The Hindu religion as it is called today has never gone thru any reforms. Caste Hindu would show some movements as reforms but most of those reformists have not impacted the Hindu society in a large way. Reforms may have attracted some followers but within a couple of generations all reforms adopted the old Hindu caste ways. Hindu society is incorrigible and any political party whose plank is to turn India into an “ultra Hindu nationalist country” must be opposed by every rightminded Indian.

Dalits and religious minorities in India already suffer under the caste Hindu rule. Allowing the RSS and its sister parties to take control of India would mean a perpetual caste domination and rampant racism.

Dalits, Muslims, Christians, tribes and other religion constitute almost 35% of Indian population and they should have this much representation in every walk of Indian life. From Technical colleges to the state governments and private jobs to the union government should have 35% set aside for minority participation. Dalits after a long struggle have had some success in quotas but caste Hindu denies quota to Muslims and other minorities.

Dalits and Muslims in India are natural allies as 80% of Muslims in the current India are former Dalits and both suffer from the caste Hindu discrimination. The RSS and its allies would continue to segregate these two large communities in India and there is a long struggle ahead for achieving the unity. This struggle may take an extreme form but without this unity, India would fall under the RSS and it sister parties control.

The Worst Curse in the World
The Worst Curse in the World…how is that? Is terrorism worst than the racism or perpetual exploitation? Is it worst than the fascism?

Armed resistance and random violence have always been weapons of choice for either a small community, oppressed community or a community that has been pushed back to the wall. If dalits pick up arms against the caste Hindu oppression and racism in India, would that be terrorism? No way! As dalits have been exposed to extreme form of racism in India for thousands of years and they have the right to use whatever means they can to end caste Hindu racism, exploitation, and the denial of dalit rights.

Muslims in the current world are not an oppressed religion or community (exception: India) neither are Muslim states under foreign control (Iraq and Afghan happened after Muslims attacked another nation). If Muslims decide to take up arms in India because of the religious oppression in India, armed resistance and random violence would be fully justified.

The current Muslim Jihadis are not a minority in any country nor are they an oppressed minority in the west. So their violence against the West is not armed resistance but are acts of extreme crimes bordering on headless terrorism.

The question remains whether it is the worst curse or not.

The Muslims violence is not huge in terms of random acts as they have barely attacked its targeted enemy the West only three times in the last four years. That is less than the IRA, or even the shining path attacks on their opposition. Surprisingly, most of the muslim terrorism is coming from empty talks, video speeches, and audio messages. What this really means is that the west is making a mountain out of a molehill.

The western media makes it appear that the whole western civilization is under attack but the truth is that in the last four years the western civilization has been more aggressive.

The Muslim criminals don’t have the capability to militarily impact the west in a gigantic way. After their first attack on 911, it took them three to four years to maneuver two other attacks in Spain and England and in both case they used low tech means. In England, their lack of resources was evident. They had to use suicides to launch homemade explosives. The IRA was always able to plant better devices; the Iraqi insurgents use more sophisticated incendiary explosion devices (IED). Jihadis can only thru cocktail bombs to fight cluster bombs.

With such limited resource, and with such a low capacity to cause damage to its enemy, how come these rustic elements are the worst curse of the world?

Any lunatic can make any number of demands. A group of lunatics can make even more lunatic demands but if they don’t have the means to fight for their demands, they would just remain fringe elements and nobody would heed to their lofty goals. The current Jihadi may ask for Caliphate or even moon but so far they have not shown that they have the means to force the demand of removing infidel from the holy lands or even deal with that stinkpot dictator Musharaf in Pakistan.

In the absence of any substantial means, as is evident from their crude attempts in Spain and London, calling them the worst curse shows a lack of grasp of the issues and complete incompetence by Mr. Dasgupta. There must be some historical evidence to prove that Muslims criminalism is the worst curse on the world…worst than the good old fascism/Nazism?…heheheheh

Mr. Dasgupta may need to go back to some library and study up stuff before repeating the media hype.

The two faces of Advani. Just before the recent attack on Ayodhya, Mr. Advani and his friends were involved in a most hilarious controversy about his remarks in Pakistan. During the whole made up storm in a tea cup, the RSS, VHP and Advani kept talking from their asses, but it was not all farts. The game was to establish Advani as an “independent” leader of the BJP. It was time for him to show that he could be a leader in his own right. So Mr. Advani went to Karachi and said some inane stuff that could never be pinned down on him in a drama directed by his loyal friends in the RSS and VHP. All actors played along nicely and now Advani is supposedly free of the RSS influence, an influence that has kept him in politics for the last 60 years. Can an ideologically committed politician shed his ideology in a matter of days? Not Advani! He never wavered in his commitment to the RSS and was always there for the RSS and would always remain an RSS follower.

Some considered that to be a crude attempt to woo Muslims but that was never the intention. The RSS and BJP don’t care about the Muslims vote. The creation of a moderate persona of Advani was important for grabbing a second look by the so-called moderate Hindus of India. Would that work considering the historical evidence that pile up against the caste Hindu? Advani would also fail like many other before him.(Advani not of any caste but he is in there with them).

The real problem is that historically, caste Hindu has failed to provide good governance to India. Before Muslims came to India, it was the most haphazardly governed country in the world. In fact, there never was any central government in India. Between the two attacks by Alexander and Ghauri for hundreds of years India had not done any thing that can get even a small mention in the history books. Those were truly dark periods of Indian history and the reason was caste Hindu. They lacked any motivation to change India or make progress. They were poor administrators and were happy to exploit untouchables to work in the fields and do other menial work. Caste Hindu justified his exploitation by making it a part of Hindu Dharma and since then Hate is the second nature of caste Hindu. They have nurtured hate for Dalits for centuries and have now found Muslims to be another target of this hate. The article above provides a true narration of how hate has seeped into Indian national politics due to caste Hindu and his current political ideology of Hindutva.

Again in the post independent India, like their predecessors before Muslims, caste Hindu Nehru, Indira, Desai, Rajiv and finally Vajpayee all failed to lead India and left India in one mess after another. Now caste Hindus have found a non white European and her Sikh lieutenant to rescue India from the social and economical morass that it is in.

Caste Hindus are order taker, munshi, dewan, or clerks but have very limited skills in political governance. They were good second fiddles to Muslims rulers and then British in exploitation of Dalits but lack the skills to lead the country fairly.

As Dr. Ambedkar said Caste Hindu would never give up the hate he is born with and would never allow the exploited and oppressed classes of the society to make progress and stand up to the caste Hindu.

I would like to thank the chowk staff for removing arjun_m’s post on unplugged where he abused my mother.
I am Dalit, untouchable, and was born into a two working-both day laborers-parents family. I was taught to respect elders and families no matter what the differences might be. I will continue to hold on to those teaching despite constant abuses hurled at me and my mother by posters here.

I know what I was taught and would not respond back in kind. However, who is going to teach this to Hindus? They were taught to hate poor and weak communities at their homes and they will continue to display what their parents taught them.

With that out of the way, I will continue to post my thoughts on the article above.

I have great respect for Subhash’s thoughts but I beg to differ here. In my previous post, I argued that Muslims are going thru what Dalits have gone thru in India for centuries. But it is not really a matter of political will. Political parties get to the top for a temporary period. They mostly work for short term policies and often there is so much turmoil in the state governments that many policies are not implemented by the state governments.

The real issue is the civil Bureaucracy. Bureaucracy is permanent. ICS officers don’t go thru election cycles and they are the ones that make and implement permanent policies.
My guesstimate would be that 95% of mid and high level ICS officers are caste Hindu. Muslim and Dalit representation is next to nothing. No matter what policies politicians make these are the people who implement them and it is a matter of their own commitment to the policy that determines the full implementation of the policy.

The RSS and VHP may not have great clout in Hindu masses but they do have an un-proportionate influence over the Hindu middle class and thus influence the civil bureaucracy from the top to almost the clerical level. The Hindu bureaucracy that has bought in to the Hindutva ideology is firmly committed to cut Muslims to size. They believe like many other RSS types that Muslims have broken this country apart and really have no rights in the modern day India. This thinking goes from the police to local level magistrate to higher secretaries’ level.

The first result of this hate in bureaucracy is that Muslims are now less than two percent in government jobs. Government still is a substantial source of employment. Some Dalits have moved into government positions but at the expense of Muslims and not caste Hindu.

In the 50s, 60s and 70s there used to be Muslims officers and clerks at different levels but now one will rarely find a Muslim. The one major impact area is the primary and secondary vernacular schools. These schools used to have plenty of Muslims teachers but in the last two decades Muslim teachers are no where to be found.
The primary school teachers in the villages and small suburban schools make a huge impact on kids. Unfortunately, most of them teachers are highly opinionated, biased, and dogmatic. When a Muslim kid gets to the school, first he finds an unsympathetic teacher and mostly goes thru the abuse that was originally reserved for Dalit kids. All dalit kids, who have been to village or small town schools, know what forces bully them constantly. From teacher to caste Hindu students, dalit kids are subjected to constant ridicule. Now the same attitude is being transferred to the Muslims kids. More and more Muslims end up removing their battered kids from the schools and end up in either small one teacher Muslim school or at some Madarssa.

The teachers have no sympathy with Muslims and they don’t influence other kids to correct their behavior and as I said earlier, Hindus at home are taught to hate Dalit and Muslim by their parents. In situation like this, Muslim alienation has tremendously increased over the last twenty odd years.

Dalits and Muslims travel in the same boat in India. Things will never improve for them unless they do a joint struggle and even that would take years.
Hindu attitude is not going to change overnight. They have learned hate in the last several centuries and it will not be one day, overnight, one week, one year, or ten years job. It will take generations to improve the Hindu attitude. In situation like this, the true road of struggle is to take an aggressive path and force Hindu to change its behavior.
