Tauheed sahib, my apologies for the intemperate words in #425. It won't happen again.

I do not have a solution. I believe that a solution can only start if a significant plurality of Pakistanis acknowledge the original mistake. I do not think it will happen in the foreseeable future.

Nkg,
Gandhiji was an unusual, a rather unique personality. He believed, perhaps wrongly, in the essential goodness of the human heart.
Gandhiji has long been dead in India. He is not responsible for the false secularism – the “secularism” of appeasing every little whims of every little vote bank which Indian politicians have practiced since independence and which they continue to do today. That vote-bank politics of those folks is not much different from the faction-based politics the British played in their time.
The fools who believe that a “clean” separation of people along religious labels would have made India and Pakistan peaceful places to live in are idiots and morons. There are countless fault lines which are present in the subcontinent – any of which can still be taken advantage of by those who are sufficiently ambitious without a sufficiently strong conscience.
It has happened in Pakistan frequently and now it is happening in India, too.
Jinnah was an evil manipulator and a closet Islamist whose difference with the likes of the OBL would have been only superficial - because at the core he did not believe in the equality of the insaan. Any Pakistani who does not recognize that simple fact is a lying hypocrite.
Any Indian who likes that descpicable creature – if empowered – will lead to the same fate for India that has destroyed Pakistan so completely.

[let's leave the past where it belongs eh?]
Cheema sahib, many Pakistanis have mastered the "art" of pushing things under the rug. Unfortunately, it does not work and I do not believe in it.
I am sorry about the loss of your family members - but it was not Gandhiji's fault! It was not HIM who called for "direct action" day!
It WAS the Jinnah's fault - and as long as Pakistanis keep propping up that creep - the same problems will keep repeating.
The country of Pakistan was built on the cesspool of hatred. That toxic dump can be covered as much as the "educated" Pakistanis and the "liberal" Pakistanis and the cowardly Pakistanis, they want to cover it - but that toxicity is very much a part of ecery fruit that any trees planted on that dump, that toxic site, will ever produce!
It is the gift of the Jinnah. It keeps giving and giving - it is that very special gift called "hatred"!

Cheema sahib, for the record, I am not a Gandhian but one does not have to be one to see in that figure what most of the people of the world see.
Clearly, Gandhiji does not need any defending - certainly not by people like me (or perhaps you).
Also, I have no interest in winning any "converts". I merely speak my mind. Those who do not like to hear what I say - well, like Arjun said rather politely...
...they have "other options"!
A legitimate argument can be made that frankly it is a total waste of time to "win" Pakistanis anyway. If Gandhiji could not do it with their forefathers - nobody else can - not even by maligning Gandhiji and by white-washing the vamp Jinnah!
Also, nobody owes the Pakistanis anything! If most of your "countrymen" refuse to see the obvious - it is THEY who suffer and they have nobody to blame but themselves.

Dear US-elite,
Tahir is not an "idiot". He follows a certain line of thinking in which he comes close to Zeemax who is also not an "idiot". Both of them have every right to present the same as long as they do not use abusive language. If and when they do, it is the job of the so-called "chowk staff" to address the situation as per their "guidelines".
I do not know anything about their "sisters" but did notice at least one of them receive some "sisterly" advice!
Arjun does not use abusive language. He pastes provocative stuff - I am sure there is a certain amount of repetition (usually not of the content but of the ideas being hammered in).
I can understand how some people here would get "bored" - the ability to get stimulated starts suffering after a certain amount of the "arousing" activity. It is a bit like getting bored of "same old sex" and blaming the people who are providing that sex while one steadfastly looks away from their own inability to stay away from the whorehouse!
In any case, chowk - at least in cyberspace - has every right to be contested by the Indians. I am glad the Arjun speaks his mind even though in all probability, he speaks in vain to this bunch of head-choppers!
Once a Pakistani - always a head-chopper!

There is no kind way to put it.
The Ahmediyas did an idiotic thing by pushing for Pakistan - they were stupid enough to think that somehow it will ingratiate them to the hearts of fundamentalist Mussalmans.
It is rather amusing to see certain members of miniscule minorities in Pakistan - too small to even matter in the scheme of that dear land of the mullahs - try to do the same on this web site.
Perhaps it should be called pathetic instead! :((
Aah, the wondrous land of the "Pure"! It's just too bad that not everybody is equally "pure"!

Tahir miaN,
You appear to be an old-timer, at least based on your profile which says "member since Sep 11 2002"!
It is kind of interesting to watch certain other "old timers" try to lecture you regarding the shortcomings of the web-site, as if you were a newbie.
PS: I confess that I never read most of the stuff you post here. It is too spam-like. :((

Mohajirs Are People Too
I do not wish you to start having doubts regarding the exclusivity of Pakistan and its denizens, but I am personally aware of the so-called "attendants" in the bathrooms of Indira Gandhi International airport controlling the toilet rolls and offering individual squares of the same to (sometimes desperately) needy users while uttering the takia-qualam:
"Dollar de do!"
I was thinking...
If one does have a bunch of dollar bills handy, won't it be more efficient to use those directly, instead of going through the needless two-stage conversion process.
After all, either way, the end results are the same!

People accomplish great things when they place their faith in themselves. The same is true of communities.
I am not familiar with the history of the Ahmediyas but I do not understand why there is a need to be associated with being a Muslim when there are so many clear lines of divergence with the "mainstream".
Forgive me if it does not sound gentle, but what was the need for the Ahmediyas to be "in the forefront" of the Pakistan "movement"?
What was the need? Was it to endear themselves to the "mainstream"? Did anybody really expect those mullahs to start shaking their heads and saying:
"Hey, these folks want a place where Mussalmans will reign supreme! They are grrrreeaat!"
Life does not work that way.
I hope the younger generation does not keep repeating the mistakes of the past. I am sorry but your previous couple of generations appear to have been laboring in vain for goals which will not ever be attained, nor would have been worth it had they been attainable at all!
I hope the younger generation derives its pride from individual accomplishments and does not need anybody's "approval" to get its sense of self-worth!
(Note: I know you do not subscribe to that "approval-seeking" line of thinking! Good for you!)

Khaalajaan, I wonder why your [Thanks for clarifying.] in #84 reminds me of the part [I said, oh, and walked away.] from the piece.
The bottomline is the mullah will do his hee and haw, and his song/dance routine and the women will get beaten up and the rest of the "women" will go along with it as long as they satisfy themselves with the pretense of making a protest and perhaps even thank him while he keeps poisoning the minds of men and women and ...
And nothing will get done.
Nothing EVER gets done!
The "izzatdaar" position of the Islamic women that miaN truly so eloquently describes will stay unchallenged, perhaps forever.
