Looking Towards a Brighter Future

Re: # 3

Eklavaya, so do you mean to say that the author is far removed from his Islamic mindset and we from our own when we jointly appreciate Saba?

Eklavya Brother,

Where is the different aspiration, gratification you've been telling us. Agreed that the Muslim mindset could be different but there should be enough meeting grounds.

"Dalit conversion (to christianity) is very high in southern states "

Nkg, Why do you think the conversions happen?

Majumdar,

Do you mean to say PLF is bad because of insufficient offtake or mechanical failures? As far mechanicl failures, I am of the understanding that makers like 'Suzlon' have come out with reliable products.

Nkg,

Is it because of relatively unchallenged Hinduism in South India, we, read South Indians, are so nonchalant about other religions gobbling us?

Re: # 26

Majumdar,

Wind mills are not commissioned to operate during windy months. This will not be feasible in the long run. The terrain needs to meet certain criteria to qualify to erect wind mills. The major thrust would be on the 'average wind speed' over the terrain all throughout the year. The altitude and undisturbed plain without too many small hillock also matter.

All of the Tirunelveli/Nagerkovil district in Tamilnadu especially Kayathar, which has the largest wind farming in India or proly Asia, are proving to be good investment. The wind mills can be run all through the year. Ironically the state Government is not settling the bills promptly and at the prevailing market rates. This has resulted in quite a few windmills being suspended.

It will prove to be too difficult for Muslims to remain Muslims of today for a long time. It is going to be exhausting and impossible.

Eklavya,

Do you fear, Hindus not knowing their own History, would allow others to manipulate and ultimately make Hindus self-haters?
Pakistan\'s Nuclear Test - Ten Years Later

Re: # 7

Maju Anna,

Its the timing of the blasts that betrays military think tanks hand in the decision. Its not about the commissioning of the project.

Regards ;P

The outcome .i.e. the tit for tat is essentially an out come of the military think tank. Thats the only way they can think of achieving parity whereas a more established civilian power could have seen the Indian testing in different perspective and reacted differently.

Pakistan tested the bomb essentially to avoid bullying by India. It knew that India would never go nuclear against it. It was also for its public consumption.

If Pakistan had not gone for the nuclear option, it would have looked benign in the eyes of rest of the world. The test blast did effect the attitude of the army and civil powers toward India and other countries and could have played a huge role in decision making.

Majumdar,

Its common knowledge Brahmins from North of Vindhyas consumed non-vegetarian food. Its the Brahmins who lived south of Vindhyas, who were into epistemology, gave much importance to vegetarian food.

All I can say is they followed it with conviction.

NKG,

In a way most of the conversions could have been eventless, since the subjects would belong to the religion of the Kings by default. Its the rebels who were dealt severely and there could not have been mass insurrections.

Harish Brother,

When Murad Saab's job is to demystify the saatvik qualities we associate with the present day Hinduism, where is the question of him searching for the goodness in it.

"Did you know that Thiru Gnanasambhandar, one of the 63 Tamil Saivite saints, was challenged by the Jain monks to a contest whereby the Jains and he were each to throw a palm leaf manuscript with a poem praising their gods on to the waters of the Vaigai river and whatever floated away to the sea would be a false religion and whatever came ashore would be accepted as the true religion? And that the Jain manuscript floated away but palm leaf containing the poem written by Thiru Gnanasambhandar came ashore and that spot on the banks of the Vaigai river is still revered?"

Thats the only way Brahmins can win an intellectual contest.

"Did you know that this contest was undertaken after Thiru Gnanasambhandar cured the Pandya king of his stomach ache (by giving him vibhuti -- holy ash -- to be rubbed on his body) while the Jain monks couldn't cure him in months of trying?"

Thanks for exposing Brahmin medical science.

"The Pandya king then converted to Hinduism and banished all the Jain monks from his kingdom. The seniormost monks were thrown into a kiln curing 'chunam' (calcium hydroxide, if I am right)."

This piece doesn't surprise me. You have still retained this trait. SK up to the ruling class and deprive rest of the society.
