Our ancestors migrated for Pakistan but we found ‘Punjabistan’ , Sindu-Desh so on the rationale of ‘when in rome’ – we formed our own ‘derh inche ke masjid’ on ethinic lines.

“zeemax #51 This is indeed a test for the new government - if it is able to apprehend and bring to court the culprits (which include the big thugs behind the street thugs), then it would have established its credibility with the people. If not, then we have some serious problems of lawlessness coming up in the future”
Sind CM already on record called for the inquiry commision to be formed by Justice Siddique (our man in Courts) – guess what? Doostoo ka Doost ….(rofl)

Zeemax, r*****, for the record MQM got 25 not 19 seats in the NA and it’s not about the quantity but quality which matters. We are in charge of the chief port, the largest city of Pakistan apart from the economical hub of Pakistan thanks to those 19 + 6 seats.
MQM never had global national agenda – we know our limitations. Infact me and lot of Ahal-e-Zubaan advocates that MQM reverts backs to ‘Mohajirs Qaumi Movement’. We are happy in Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukker, Nawabshah and Urban Sind and could not ask for more.
On a personal note, I had been one of those people who personally witnessed the burned bodies day before yesterday and although its sad that those died but I think those died during the rioting saved lifes of thousands who would have been killed in future if 9/10 of April would not have had happened.
The lizard eating Sindis, Daughter selling Pujabis should stop mendling in the affairs of Karachi and Urban Sind or the situation would be that of a Punjabi in Quetta or a Army Goon in Waziristan.

After the elections , MQM was in reconciliation mood ; accepted the verdict and mandate given to the Sindi Fascists (PPP), Punjabi Fascists (PML-N) and Pakhtoonkhuas Nationalists (ANP) but what do we get out of good will ? Nothing!!!
Its was evident that post-PPP government in Sind (or any government) minus MQM would somehow undo whatever development done by the MQM apart would create a huge communicational gap between the urban and rural Sind (keeping in mind the Sindi Fascist attitude post-Benazir killing) and the statements coming from PPP leaders from Karachi Chapter – Naveed Gabol in particular.
Unfortunately violence is the only way left to show the uncivilized rural jerks who is in charge of Urban Sind. It’s a common feeling among Ahal-e-Zubaan that Sindis would eat them the vary day when MQM is not there – which proved right on the 27th of December, 2007.
A note on our newly appointed lizard eater CM Pir Manhoos that since he took over he transferred if not all but 2/3 of Police SHOs, TPO’s, DIG’s and now even a Sind IG (co-incidentally with exception of the IG all of the police officers are Urdu Speaking Men).
Right or Wrong, MQM is a reality, bitter to the passere-zameen and sweet to us *urdus*.

As a minority group (Urdu speaking) MQM does our dirty work. Fortunately or Unfortunately, MQM is our counter group (like Sin Fin of the Irish, Hizbul Mujahideen of the Kashmir’s) against Fascist Sindis and Power Mongering Paindoo Punjabis; not to mention the Pashtoons who needs to be kept in check in Karachi.
Although I’m sorry and grieved for the tragic loss of life on personal basis but delighted at the quick wits of the leadership of MQM as it was a ‘much needed action’ – post Sindi Government in Sind and Punjabi Fascist Lohar Government in Punjab.
What we achieved after the action? Total dominance in Karachi, Hyderabad, Confidence Boosters for our community apart from power sharing on 60/40 basis in Sind.
As for lawyers, I wish more gets killed!!!!
Bravo MQM, Bravooo!

Lost That Loving Feeling
Interesting thought provoking article ; made me introspect.
I had been in all sorts of relations – one night stands, no string attached ones, serious, non-serious, short/long term and that’s what I am afraid off to be honest. I know it’s you are not Dr.Phil but what I am concerned about is about my post-marriage life? Would it actually work out? Specially what I have experienced during my other relationships that the chemistry gets over as time passes.
During teenage hood we somehow don’t understand the difference between love and infatuation – anyone from the opposite gender who spoke to me – eventually became my girlfriend.
Anyhow, I am sure – I had learned my lesson this time – although I had been in love with someone from past couple of years and she is my fiancé now.

Strange, I hated what you stood up (because of your religiously oriented views - since i had been on chowk for the last good 5-6 years) but somehow, all you said make sense - thinking from a moderate, fundo or anyone's point of view.
Your are so right on leaving someone just because Fauran-e-Azam says so!

Some points,
a) Kashmir Singh was arrested with another person in Rawalpindi – the chap was jailed for 10 years – he completed his punishment, went to India to say he ‘spied’.
b) Kashmir Singh was definitely a spy – there’s no doubt – he accepted this in an interview in India – he even stated that he used to get paid ‘Rs.400/month’ at that time when he was spying in Pakistan.
c) GoP knew everything about Kashmir Singh – he was realsed on humanitarian grounds and nothing more. I had always maintained that there should be a difference between us and them and the realease of Kashmir Singh is one of the examples of how we stand.
d) Ansar Burney’s NGO is probably one of the best kept secrets of Pakistan – he’s done so well for Pakistan and Pakistanis on the issue of Pakistani Camel Jockeys in UAE and Saudi Arabia – on releasing scores of Pakistanis detained in Eastern European Countries and whole of Asia.

The Nawaiwaqt Generation and the Power of No!
Your Sindi Nationalist Party a.k.a Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians leader – Asif Zardari has got the power of ‘NO’ now and he’s using and abusing it to an extent that he’s not letting the right man – getting the right job in cabinet-to-be and for the slot of premiership ; instead he’s grooming his (Zardari) own clan.
While another political party which is ‘Punjabi Nationalist’ which came up with the slogans of ‘Jaag Punjabi Jaag’ – PML (N) is in power in Punjab and there leader Mian Mohammad Nawaz Sharif also got this option to say ‘NO’ – he’s keeping all the options alive and intact and will use the power of ‘NO’ sometime later. PML(N) stance on reinstatement of judiciary is ‘topi-drama’ and nothing more and is to please the commoners.
Aitazaz Ahsen is a changed man – he’s condemned by the Karachi Bar Association and his own lawyer’s community for his statements on ‘forgetting the 12th May happenings’. At a same time Aitazaz is up with all horns with some of the Central Leaders of his own political party (PPPP) – Aitazaz has the option of saying ‘NO’ too; time will how well he will use his ‘NO’.
Nawaiwaqt Generation is still there prorably keeping quiet in the form of Q-League but I had always maintained that Nawaiwaqt Generation is a group of ‘conservatives’ , the neo-cons of Pakistan. Gen(retd)Hameed Gul types.
Random Thoughts:
a) I had been thinking how right the people who assassinated Benazir Bhutto were – it’s proving ‘good’ for the country in long-run.
b) Happy as MQM had made a decision to sit on the opposition benches – also there’s this concern for the urban areas of Sind(s) Developmental Work; The Confidence of Urdu-Gujrati Speaking Nation and the ‘fascism of Sindis’ in Sind.
c)c) Civil Society of Pakistan consists of PML (N), PPPP, some human rights lot, pseudo intellectuals, ANP, ex-armed forces service men, Baloch nationalists, Sind nationalists? Black Coats? What is a civil society? Another contender for power? A coup? For sure…

Anil is right in a way. We (Muslims) needs a serious introspection and sought out our problem on an urgent basis.
Following are the problems I could identify:
a) either to side with ummah or the state which you live in ; be a patriot or a mujahid
b) on shria – should it be imposed? Or is it stone-aged
c) concept of sectarianism
d) jihad – who calls for a jihad
e) tolerance for other religions
f) respect for women
g) Islam and politics – should they mix?

Yes, my last visit to Fatehpur was in 2002 (although the Indian Government does not allow law-enforcement officers visas)- yes, you are correct in saying that the Dargah is in a bad state.
a) theres a feud between the committee members
b) apparently the gold of the tomb is stolen from the dargah
ofcourse, the committee is to be blamed , although the committee often plays the 'muslim' card, unfortunately.
I assume they shot a lot in Fatehpur Sikri - in Akber and Jodha too. Somehow, I am in romance with the place, place of internal peace - land of my forefathers.
