Everything said and done, homosexuality is unnatural. It is as unnatural as any un natural act like canabolism etc can be. However, as alot of people indulge in those acts so do homosexuals indulge in homosexuality.

The shock the writer received is nothing new. It is called cultural shock. You get a cultural shock when you leave Pakistan and a reverse cultural shock when you reach Pakistan after spending time outside especially in certain European countries. Some of the areas of life where the impact is greater than others is while driving or walking on the roads, in the shopping centers, in Government offices and especially in hospitals. However, the solution is not grabbing someone from the throat or abusing others. The best way is to chnage your ownself and hope for the others to change too.

I agree with Bina Shah. Is such a murder justified or will it stop blasphemy in any way? Certainly not! It will increase hatred towards Muslims in general and the opinion that they are murdorous barbarians in particular. The musrder of a human being is like the murder of the whole humanity, which cannot be justified in anyway. The civilized world is giving up capital punishment by the State and we are still talking about whether it is right or wrong to kill a human being without due process of law. What a shame!
The Litmus Test
Instead of blaming them or Pakistan`s political leadership, Pakistanis should try to change themselves. They always talk against extremism and then they vote for the extremists in the next election.

A Pakistani has the same position and status for a European or an American when he is in their country as an afghani has in Pakistan . They look at Pakistanis as illegal economic migrants from a third world extremist fundamentalist country, who are in their country in search of money and an opportunity to commit crime. They believe that a Pakistani will harm them in one way or another, may that be crime or terrorism, whenever they get an opportunity. Instead of blaming them or Pakistan`s political leadership, Pakistanis should try to change themselves. They always talk against extremism and then they vote for the extremists in the next election.

Excellent example of positice thinking. If every Muslim start thinking on these lines, most of our worries will wither away. I congratulate Ali.

Its understandable that these people are different in their attitude towards sex but people normaly start avoiding them. This attitude is not understandable. Then there are lots of girls who are known and professed lesbians. They are also different from the stereo type. They are not different from these guys in their attitude towards sex but nobody avoids them. Why?

Easier saying than really meaning:``May the one, who has taken you, away from me
May he be, for you, what I never could be``

I guess I dont agree with Gita. Women were in a very bad state in the past especially before the industrial revolution. Their position in the society is improving with every passing day and all the credit goes to those people, both male and female, who have taken up their cause. No body should be domminent or submisive in human relations. It is all based on equality and fair play.
Hidden Desires
Does infidelity save marriages?
It means that when partners in life are sick and tired of each other, in dire need of space and are about to divorce, if they have such an experience, it brings them together again.

Here is a question for every one: Does infidelity save marriages?
It means that when partners in life are sick and tired of each other, in dire need of space and are about to divorce, if they have such an experience, it brings them together again.

You have asked Sohail about two different things- dating and attracting opposite sex. I guess the order is wrong. It should have been attracting and dating. I think he should first tell you how to attract and then how to date them. What do you think?

The devil is in the details. Dating both on the net and physical is like seeing the drawing room of a house. Wait till you visit the washroom, the kitchen, the lounge and the bedroom. Only then can you know or comment on the actual position of the house. The same is true for individuals. They are very nice but when you actually come to know about them in finer details, they are mostly cruel, dishonest, insensitive, selfish, self centered and thus unattractive.
A Fobby Love Story
I agree with the writer. I would like to add that an ABCD/EBCD once, an ABCD/EBCD forever. EBCD is the European version.
They talk of relationship but they dont believe in one. In fact these girls are reading a potential husband the moment they come across a guy. Its as if they are our desi girls and their Moms combined together and personfied as one.

A great narration. One the best I have read so far in the Chowk (may be because I am new here).I agree with the writer. I would like to add that an ABCD/EBCD once, an ABCD/EBCD forever. EBCD is the European version.

An excellent article. Full of knowledge, very thought provoking and pertinent. However, I guess a lot of people like me would have loved to read about how to deal with a person belonging to one of the groups, if one is stuck in a relationship with such a person. - Annu
