Nice try but here's reality

pakis of all shades want indian kashmir really bad

the paki army promises it can get them kashmir

the paki junta is ok with strenghtening the army so it can get kashmir

it fights with india, loses and fails to win kashmir

it then blames the civilian setup for the loss and turns it's guns on the paki junta

so the reason you don't have democracy and your army is bombing your people: kashmir..

Pakistan’s General Anarchy
By MOHAMMED HANIF

London

On the night he declared the emergency, General Musharraf released 28 Taliban prisoners; according to news reports, one was serving a sentence of 24 years for transporting two suicide bombers’ jackets, the only fashion accessory allowed in Pakistan’s Taliban-controlled areas. These are the kind of people who on their off days like to burn down video stores and harass barbers for giving shaves and head massages.

In what can be seen only as a reciprocal gesture, the Taliban released a group of army soldiers it had held hostage — according to the BBC, each soldier was given 500 rupees for good behavior.

Why do General Musharraf and his army feel a sense of kinship with the very people they are supposed to be fighting against? Why are he and his army scared of liberal lawyers and teachers but happy to deal with Islamist Pashtuns in the tribal areas?

The reasons can be traced back to the 1980s, when another military dictator, Gen. Zia ul-Haq, launched a broad campaign to Islamicize Pakistani society and the armed forces in particular. Back then, I was a cadet at Pakistan’s Air Force Academy, where I witnessed, along with hundreds of other aghast cadets, a remarkable scene in which a new recruit, out of religious conviction, refused to shave his beard. (Like most military training institutes in the world, the academy’s first right of passage was to turn the civilian recruits into clean-shaven jarheads.)

The issue was eventually referred to the Army high command in Islamabad, and as a result procedures for training institutes were amended — the boy was allowed to keep his beard and wear his uniform. The academy barber never recovered from the shock.

Within months there were other changes: evenings socializing to music and mocktails were replaced by Koran study sessions. Buses were provided for cadets who wanted to attend civilian religious congregations. Within months, our rather depressing but secular academy was turned into a zealous, thriving madrassa where missing your daily prayers was a crime far worse than missing the morning drill.

It is this crop of military officers that now runs the country. General Musharraf heads this army, and is very reluctant to let go.

Authorities stop sale of satellite dishes in Islamabad

* Prices of satellite dish antennae rise in Rawalpindi and Islamabad

By Aamir Yasin

RAWALPINDI/ISLAMABAD: Authorities stopped the sale of satellite dish antennae on Tuesday in a bid to prevent people from accessing private TV channels for the latest political developments concerning the state of emergency.

Police visited various markets in and around the twin cities and verbally ordered shopkeepers selling dish antennae to close down their shops or face stern action.

Price hike: The government has already pulled news channels and cable networks are only airing entertainment channels, a move that caused a sharp increase in the sale of dish antennae and digital receivers nationwide. The price of a dish antenna rose from Rs 5,500 to Rs 9,000 in Rawalpindi and from Rs 5,000 to Rs 20,000 in Islamabad as a result.

In Rawalpindi, shopkeepers told Daily Times that police visited Imperial Market, Raja Bazaar, Iqbal Road, Commercial Market, Chotta Bazaar, Saddar and DAV College Road and told shopkeepers to close their stores immediately.

Plainclothesmen were deployed in and around the markets to keep an eye on the shops that dealt in dish antennae and accessories.

Muhammad Kareem, a shopkeeper in the electronics market on DAV College Road, said that the demand for dish antennae had risen tremendously after the state of emergency was imposed in the country and that he had sold more than 50 sets.

“There are two main wholesale dealers of dish antennae in Rawalpindi – Kamran Electronics and Antennaways - and they had to close their shops,” Kaleem Ahmad, a shopkeeper, said.

In Islamabad, dish antenna shops in Aabpara, Blue Area, Super Market, Jinnah Super Market, F-10, G-8, G-9 and other markets were closed. However, the sale of dish antennae continues, as people are willing to pay extra to get them on the black market.

India should wholeheartedly back mushy. he's been good for india. in his raaj, the paki army and their jihadi offspring are duking it out with a lot of dead pakis. he's using fighters and helicopter gunships against purelanders.

the paki junta have turned on their army and the jihadis are destined to be in conflict with the paki state for a long time.

heck, RAW couldn't have scripted it better than the current situation.

so...MUSHY..you go, general.

Michael Savage called mushy the gandhi of pureland and then went on to imply that purelanders are knuckle dragging savages who aren't ready for democracy. How badly do you have to screw up to get the kiss of death from der weiner nazi?

why the once professional Pakistan army

professional? really?

1965: Tried to take Srinagar but barely managed to save Lahore
1971: Killed a whole bunch of racially inferior short dark rice eating bingos. Dropped their pants and surrendered.
1999: Snuck up on mountain posts vacated by the Indian army. When the Indians counter attacked, turned tail and left the bodies behind( and blamed it on nawaz)

the fact is that they used to lose to india and win against the paki junta..now even the jihadis they nurtured are kicking their butts to the point where they're surrendering en-masse and having to use white phosphorus against school girls.

These so-called financial wizards, these nincumpoop professionals have kept the Pak rupee "pegged" to the USD

Hmm..has pureland's forex gone up by that amount? It was 13 billion a few years ago and it's 16 billion now. Wouldn't the forex reserves go up more if they were buying $$ to keep the rupee pegged?

Militancy in Pakistan is a result of Musharraf’s ‘contract’ to fight America’s ‘war on terror’ in the northern parts of Pakistan.

Trying to pull a fast one?

Militancy in pureland is because of your policy of using islamic fundamentalism as a strategic tool.
