Great piece. The OP vote should matter. It wouldn't seem too hard for the embassies to act as polling stations abroad for a couple of days. Do not know how that would work out in the gulf as u said but the fact remains that embassies and foreign missions are supposed to act as that countries territory by rule of law no? so why cant they do polling?

Yes it is important for everyone to see Pakistan's politics free from all interference. However what proof do any of us have that the PPP is the messiah for this cause?

We must also remember what the PPP has achieved in its two past governances of our country. Let history be the judge of the hopefuls for the future leadership of Pakistan.

In criticizing Tahir for this moving piece. We are all forgetting that some of the people who died in that cockpit were his friends. I have visited the northern areas on occasion and flown to shangrila as well in a thrill ride of a plane flight. True i have never heard this story either... but that does not mean it cannot be true. Can we all just be a little more sensitive here??? Or should we always have to indulge in name calling and obscenities to get our point across!!

Please open yr minds...

Charlie Wilson\'s War Stretches the Imagination

The movie turned a little hollow when they started showing Charlie willing to help the afghans only because of his humane side. The whole world knows that American policy in this specific was as it is in others is purely motivated by their own self interest. Nothing humane about strategic planning.

Good acting by Tom Hanks and the others...but a bit frivolous

First of all Laddu, its not just yr public places they belong to all of us. Secondly what will being scared of him do. people like him have already taken away our very sense of security by the fear that the generate. I have neither fear nor respect for them. For me they represent nothing but the collective fears of all of us.. in the shape of the ultimate bogey man.. tearing them down a little takes away some of that fear.
