you miserable fool! tell me one useful thing in the silly book you so revere that either wasn't known at the time or couldn't be figured out via simple common sense?
If the answer is yes on both accords then tell me why it was needed in the first place?
PS: the questions are purely rhetorical

I am with Beej on this one, Despite what people have said, he'd have to be one of the most balanced interactors here.

Gandhi ji did make mistakes .... he was human as the rest of us. What's disturbing is that some Hindus should harbour and nurture the same level and style of communalism they accuse others of ... the very fact Gandhi ji is hated by the most militant and aggressive Hindu organisations is a vindication of his sincerity towards the sort of India he dreamt of.I am with Beej on this one, Despite what people have said, he'd have to be one of the most balanced interactors here.

I am part of a minority where I live ... and believe me (and Shoaib) the difficulties and problems lie more with the minorities at times than the majority ... I had no problems growing up and progressing through life .. nor did my siblings .. because education was deemed important in our household ... the story is very different for most though ... I can tell you for sure if I'd been born in my native land, I'd be doing 'kaashkaari' like my cousins and considering my self lucky to be around!
in 'our' world we expect the minorities to make concessions ... why do we have different rules when we ourselves are a minority?

I for one am happy with my identity as a human being, you should know that by now ... however, tribalism seems deeply engrained in human psyche ... my support for an ethnic muslim identity is meant to be the first step in uprooting this menace for good ...
... afterall I have seen you many a times thanking Jinnah for Pakistan! ... if 'humanity' is the be all and end all ... where is there any room for such luxaries?

I am all for an "ethnic" identity for muslims ... and will continue to advocate this concept as much as possible ... to me, people like Marat Safin etc are equally valid muslims .... trouble is it is the muslims themselves who oppose this concept more than any one! they insist on bringing in silly ideas like 'faith' into it which goes against your otherwise commendable interact

do you always do as the 'pastor' tells you on other matters too? ... if yes, fair enough; if no, then where's the relevance?

Truth is the muslims are not exclusive when it comes to difficult co-habitation with the 'other' .... many examples throughout history .... the ultra-orthodox jews still live 'separate' and parallel lives to the 'mainstream' ... even in Israel itself .... communists can't live with anyone else unless THEY are the dominant ones ... the hindus achieved it by declaring (at a stroke) the undesirables amongst themselves as the 'untouchables' ... hence avoided having to kill them off (since hinduism also promotes 'non-violence') ... rather 'utilising' the "untouchability" to the advantage of the 'higher' casts!
I am beginning to think this "non-violence" has more to do with the 'lack of balls' on the part of the hindus rather than borne out of any sense of altruism or of fairness ... it is hardly fair to treat fellow humans as 'untouchable' ... is it?
