Vijay Tendulkar: A Voice Against Misogyny

Re: # 28

I think you misdunderstood me .I made a all encompassing reply

By slave it sounds very bad but think of it as being not be able to do without them .Extremism can be of son /daughter side .Should father kill his progeny to be responsible not destroy the family what took generation to build .Daughter /son can be opressive to parents too.

This u an extrapolate to man women relation .

In the city life more jobs paying ..enough for women to seperate and live in hostels are easy and possible even with minimium education and compraively very small salaries .

Parents and men also face effect of lack of respect responsibility and 'its my life ' adolescent behaviour from which this voice is coming .Rebellion .

There are greater atroceties commited by men its b/c there are more men in jail too.

finally its not this or that Both sides have concern and need is not 'liberation' but balance

Bitter Sqweet Bhai

I beg to differ non confrontationlly

" are they slaves " its afact they are as long as they are dependent on men ...

At least pragmatically its a mans world To turns things up side down u need men and untill they give women are too weak to do so by themselves ,It may hurt there ego .Its like war between undefeatable strong against dependent weak.Women can go with not marrying adopting divorcing aborting choosing etc ec. it is only financed by there rich FATHER .There has ben very little respectable matriachal society .Mostly tribals

TRU islam is the first system that gave real rights to women
abiliy to divorce

remarriage of widow

no dowry

laws of inheritence

severe punishment for rape Etc.Etc

I know women are not IDENTICALLY equal to men as in west but taken the SUM TOTAL of rigts minus pluses between men and women rights it adds up to EQUAL .

Banerjee vs Nan vate Commission

Only If it were not for Election politics

NHRC: Nanavati report on riot in Gujarat partial

NEW DELHI: The Justice

G.T. Nanavati Commission

report that absolved Chief Minister Narendra Modi’s Gujarat government of any foul play in the Gujarat carnage has been termed partial.

The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has described reports of the Nanavati Commission and that of Justice U.C. Banerjee’s Commission as “partial.”

Insisting that such government-constituted panels had no independence, NHRC Chairperson Justice S. Rajendra Babu said yesterday: “Both Nanavati and Banerjee gave partial reports.”

Nanavati Commission, in its report about the Sabarmati Express burning incident, that left 58 Hindus dead, said: “There is absolutely no evidence that Chief Minister Narendra Modi or any of the ministers or police officer played any role in the Godhra incident.”

The report also said that this incident “was a pre-planned conspiracy” hatched at Aman Guest House in Godhra.

The Banerjee Commission, set up by Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav in September 2004, said in its report submitted in 2005, that the burning of the coach was an accident and the fire began within the coach itself.

When his comments were sought on Nanavati Commission terming the Sabarmati Express fire as “pre-planned,” Banerjee replied: “I have given my report that it was an accidental fire.”

Describing both reports as “partial,” NHRC chairperson said: “They (the government-appointed commissions) are not independent. Lots of problems and difficulties are there.”

The Godhra train fire was a “rare case,” which led to a communal violence in Gujarat, leading to death of thousands of people and destruction of properties, Babu said: “In such cases partial reports are not released.”

“Elections are near. I do not want to politicize the issue. We have to look into it from an independent angle and impartial manner so that nobody should feel that we have ignored anyone and sided with anyone,” Babu said.

Nanavati Commission is to submit the second part of its report — covering the subsequent riots in Gujarat — by Dec. 31, 2008.

The first part of the report also says there is no evidence of there being on part of state government “any lapse in providing protection, relief and rehabilitation to victims of the communal riots and in the matter of not complying with the recommendations and direction given by the NHRC.”

In the opinion of Justice J.S. Verma, who headed the NHRC during the Gujarat carnage: “It (Nanavati report) is not correct and, in fact, far from the truth that the Gujarat state government adhered to NHRC reports and recommendations.”

It may be recalled that the NHRC had said in April 2002 after visiting Gujarat: “The Commission is constrained to observe that a serious failure of intelligence and action by the state government marked the events leading to the Godhra tragedy and the subsequent deaths and destruction that occurred.”

Besides, the study conducted by Gujarat’s Forensic Science Laboratory also concluded that the inflammable liquid that caused the fire in Sabarmati Express was spread from inside, not outside, the coach.

nb
whose body count is more ?

TWO SETS
1/ if you argue as mischievous hindutva allege that its part of International Islamic terrorism you have to prove more than that the palestenian simi lakshar etc have Muslim names .It means nothing if for winning a battle one invokes allah jihad or historical persecution .As good shiv sena friend boasted that even if Shiva Ji won by stabbing the back the objective justified the means .So do Muslims all over use like dynamite Allah Jehad Islam khatre maine whatever MEANS there is to achieve the objective

The objectives are DIFFERENT for palestine

Some hatred for west.../imperialist capitalism Some true or perceived' liberation'sbut u cannot for ease of remembering short notes for examination reduce it to one word jihad or two word Islamic jehasd or three word islamic terrorist jehad

If to reiterate u are talking Internationally THEN ALL THE DEAD IRAQ TO AFGHANISTAN MUSLIM BODIES SHOULD BE COUNTED

2/If only Hindu Muslims equation in India is considered whose body counts more 2500 gujrat... million in Kashmir ...

Not that i want equal number dead but you got to get one thing that minorities have ONLY police to protect .The majority can defend or attack by shear number .and if you add no state operatives like police govt servant to it who is the victim?

It takes few Attas to do 9/11 or 10 kasab to do what they did and all abduls who Share the name must die ?

Was it duty to burn christians ?

Was it duty to massacre in Gujrat ?

is it duty

to plan genocide systemecally
by inventing stories on flimsy theories of biased historians out of context

Does every violence /killing to be attributed to his name .Afteral these are muslims by name only any GHazni Ghauri warriors faught just as Prithivi Shivaji Rana pratap .I dont think prithivi shivaji rana pratap were following Geeta nor fighting for religion nor for justice /equality.

Its your communalism mindset .There is this rhetoric of 'barabarism' bedoine' u manifest by 'baboor 'urdoo .

Do christian follow italians b/c vatican is in italy Do jews folow arab palestenian b/c israel is there .
You dontt even need to follow the family of the founder of the relgion .or its race country . islamic art language language music literature all over the world ?'bedouinoid'?

Moshai

Whaty babbor btw its Babur did or how persia /syria /egypt /afghanistan etc became muslims is not the responsibility nor burden guilt of 'converted' muslims. So what is it is the hatred for muslims or religion or both ?

So which is the ‘real’ Islam? That of Osama bin Laden, al Qaeda, SIMI and IM, all of whom together add up to but a

minuscule, albeit lethal, number of the 1.4 BILLION

Muslims? Or of Muslim religious leaders in India and elsewhere, each of whose following runs into millions? More to the point, we might ask: why does Allah (Quran) and Prophet Mohammed teach one thing and its very opposite at the same time? For an answer to this paradox

let’s go to the Bhagavad Gita, “the greatest gospel of spiritual works ever yet given to the race” (Sri Aurobindo).

How can Lord Krishna’s sermon to Arjuna that to fight and kill was his dharma be called the “greatest spiritual gospel”?
Sri Aurodbindo: “We will use only soul force and never destroy by war or any even defensive employment of physical violence? Good, though until soul force is effective, the Asuric force in men and nations tramples down, breaks, slaughters, burns, pollutes, as we see it doing today, but then at its ease and unhindered, and you have perhaps caused as much destruction of life by your abstinence as others by resort to violence.” As for those who might see Vishnu’s incarnation as a “God of War,” here’s a commentary you could access from http://www.hinduwisdom.info/ Hindu_Scriptures.htm: “Lord Krishna, after failing to convince him that it is the duty of a warrior to fight in a righteous war, reveals himself to Arjuna and answers his questions on the nature of the universe, the way to God and the meaning of duty.

“This magnificent dialogue between man (Arjuna) and Creator (Krishna) forms the Bhagavad Gita, in which the Hindu doctrine is fully explained.” Allah’s message to Prophet Mohammed and his followers in the nascent city-state of Medina, greatly outnumbered and overwhelmed on the eve of a war not of their choosing, resonates with Lord Krishna’s message to Arjuna

Re: # 259

No holy text preaches hate. But as the history of all religions shows, if we harbour it in our hearts, we can read hate in any sacred text we like:
Bible,
Quran

or the Gita. (this to be shown in later )

The word jihad occurs in the Qur’an 41 times (though not a single verse uses it in the sense of war) there are other key words in Qur’an representing values. As we have pointed out in one of the previous articles there are four most fundamental values in Qur’an i.e. justice (’adl), benevolence (ihsan) compassion (rahmah) and wisdom (hikmah).
These are Allah’s names also in Qur’an i.e. Allah is Just, Benevolent, Compassionate and Wise. Thus the Qur’an is embodiment of these values and a Muslim is duty bound to practice these values above all. One who fails to practice these values can hardly claim to be true Muslim. Jihad is not even obligatory in Islamic jurisprudence whereas these values are indicative of a Muslim’s character and hence quite important.
