Sine Die

A short while ago, I believed and

Felt dawn: dusk now colors disillusionment,

A corner of my mind reels, tired from struggling,

Pain of a loss overwhelms me

Yet in all my sightless reveries,

He smiles; his face before my muted eyes

Searing my thoughts with sadness.



A chorus of dementia offers no orisons-

Only sorrow remains,

Sumum bonum brims choking tears

Staining a cause devoted,

Sighs comfort weary hopes

Tonight; the game of life renews again

And tomorrow is another regret,

Floundering in vortex of dead emotions

With abated breath I await

Sine die of my life.
