Good, light, watch-able movie about a chef whose life is intense and focused on - you got it - food!! she runs her own kitches in a restaurant in nyc, never shows emotion except for anger and control, and has a no-nonsense approach towards life. Sister dies, she 'inherits' a 9-yr old and suddenly her kitches has a chef who makes her laugh, cry and wonder about her life.

The movie stars Catherine Zeta-Jones and Aaron somethingortheother. There's not enough chemistry between the two for me to realllllllly enjoy the movie. There's a lot of talk about food, which is good, but the chemistry between the main leads is missing.

Overall a 6.5 out of 10. Watch if you have nothing better to do on a Friday night.

so treacly. <img src=(" /> everyone is beautiful, only slightly neurotic, potential substance (the sisters' father abandoned them, the new guy's dad was a steelworker) was reduced to charming info-notes. at least the death of zoe's mother was treated with the proper depth. belongs to that frothy genre emerging (russell crowe as a stockbroker who sees the light at as his uncle's french vinyard, etc., those awful matthew mcconaughy-goldie hawn's daughter ventures). so williams-sonoma. get me a barf bag.

it looks smart and funny...i think its based on a real life nyc woman chef who is legendary for dishing at back customers-if memory serves me correctly, one story was that one arrogant wall street type kept sending back his streak. she threw her chopping knife (minhaj, i imaginet the knife circling thru space in slo-mo like in a kung fu movie) at the middle of this customer's table, where it (of course) lodged into the table in front of the customer, and no, he never returned a meal again(T)

looks like there might be some nice chemistry b/n jones and aaron.

Sobia, thanks!

hahah Aaron has a great last name. I'll check it out. I like the food service angle because the chef is like an artist but their canvas is like our mouth or the plate soemthing and the kitchen setting with silver shiny, pots pans, sizzling food, knives, chopping onions quickly type of scenes while being angry about something else, i like all that. Its very difficult to accept Zita Jones as a cook or someone who works in a kitchen but still she is so good to look at.
