Zee Sahib,
Please see use the following link to access the post I am referring to. I don't know what is it with Chowk.

"Now, do you mean your calling the Sharifs 'loha chors' is character assassination too? Or is there some evidence you have of their being that?".

To be frank, I don't know if it character assasination on my part. I did not coin the term, neither did mataruas. I picked it up from my days on the Usenet in the 90's when I used to post to ARI, SRI and, occasionally, to SCP. I picked up the term from SCP where it was used liberally by, of all the people, paindoos themselves. Admittedly, some claimed that the title was more justly belonged to marhum Abbaji based on the family's reputation for having their hirelings lift covers of manholes on the streets for Ittefaq Foundries.

If you do advanced search in google Groups and specify "loha chor" as search phrase, requesting results form SCP (soc.culture.pakistan) only, you will find 60+ hits. I include below an excerpt from a post by Jamil Raza (a self-declared paindoo) dated Dec'12 1998 under the thread "Destitute Pakistani father burns teenage daughter: report":

Despite its inherent contradictions

------- END --------

Now to search for all the report in "The Times" and "Observer", that Jamil Raza refers to, I will have to search their archives from that period and, frankly, I don't have time for that.

There were widspread sories of the import duty being lowered from Rs. 5000/ton to Rs. 500/ton, for a week or so, whenever a shipment for Ittefaq foundries showed up in Karachi.

Other reports of corruption by NS are too numerous and too well publicized for me to list over here, though you undoubtedly find references in the SCP posts (none by me BTW) on the SCP.

So I leave it to your good judgement, Sir, if I am guilty of a biased character assasination of NS? Nor have I made a career out of ONLY maligning the villains of MY choice, unlike you and TAhmed, for I know full well that in the Pakistani hammam they are all naked from A-Z, not just AZ. By all means if you have evidence of such "bevaa aurtoN aur raanD mardoN ki tarah kilkilana" from me on Chowk, or on ANY other forum for that matter, do feel free to expose it.

(T)

Enough said. I rest my case.

Post by viqarm,

in which category do you place calling people matarua?

Of-course in the category of 'character assassination'. What else? I'm quite honest about it!

Now, do you mean your calling the Sharifs 'loha chors' is character assassination too? Or is there some evidence you have of their being that?

"But I'm only convinced with facts, not rhetoric or character assassination".

OK, in which category do you place calling people matarua?
Fact, rhetoric, or character assasination?

Post by viqarm,

Viqar Saheb, I'm always ready to be convinced. I'm one of the few people on Chowk who's been convinced many times. But I'm only convinced with facts, not rhetoric or character assassination.

Do go ahead with your research Sir, and tell me. I'll respect you for that (not that I do not already) (T)

"About Loha Chors and how much loha they stole etc".

And, for argument's sake, were I to do the research and write it up, you would be convinced and we will all live happily ever after?

Or is it so that we can have opprtunity to do endless verbal mukmuka (of which there is no shortage on FP)? To what end, Sir? After all, stalwarts like you are at it for a good ten years now. Have you changed each other's minds?

GT,

But one thing's for sure. If Altaf Pai had been around, this virginal bibi (whoever she is) would have been bestowed with Baji-hood in no time at all by the Pir himself!

Exactly about what, Sir?

About Loha Chors and how much loha they stole etc. (T)

"viqar saheb, this remark clearly shows mutarwa-like bias. (BTW all Urdu Speaking are not muturwas - these are a special kind)"

Zee Sahib,
I have no argument with what 155/272 think. I accept their democratic right; why shouldn't I. That does not mean I have to have the same views as them.

I may not like Musharraf or the MQM; that does not automatically translate into adulation for the loha chore or the cult of the feudal princess. It is my democratic right, as much as supporting taliban/Islamists is yours.

I am sympathetic to Islam myself; it just happens to be of a very different variety than those who are obsessed with setting blasphemers on fire, bombing Christian churches, generally opressing minorities, and defacing the statues of Buddha.

I have enough posts on FP for anyone to take apart piece by piece. You are certainly welcome to it. I am flattered by your invitation to write an article. Exactly about what, Sir?

Post by viqarm,

viqar saheb, this remark clearly shows mutarwa-like bias. (BTW all Urdu Speaking are not muturwas - these are a special kind)

Considering that the elections are accepted as being rather free and fair, it appears that 155 national assembly constituencies out of a total 272 do not consider them spoilt prince/princesses and loha chors at all - while just 19 do (who too are scrambling to get on board the bandwagon).

But perhaps this discussion is better suited for FP. Care to write an article Sir ... :) so I can take your arguments apart piece by piece (T)

Post by GT,

Come to think of it ... don't Nagas look like this? Maybe cliftonbridge is a Naga version of Mata Hari in MQM ranks *-)

Zee Sahib,
Many of us mataruas are not MQMites [-X.

It is just that we detest spoled prince/princesses
and loha chors even more.:@
