Amir U Khan graduated in 1987 from the Osmania University College of
Engineering, Department of Electronics and Communication. He obtained his
Post Graduate Diploma in Management from the Institute of Rural Management
at Anand, Gujarat in 1989. He joined the Indian Civil service after which he
worked for four years with Project LARGE (Legal Adjustments and Reforms for
Globalising the Economy) of the UNDP and Ministry of Finance, Government of
India. He headed the Academic unit at the School of Finance and Management,
India Chapter where he taught Economics and Management at the chapters of
the School in New Delhi, Madras and London. He worked for a little over two
years as Executive Director and Editor, Encyclopaedia Britannica India Pvt
Ltd. He is now Director, Asia for the International Policy Network, a
non-profit, non-governmental organisation working on public policy issues,
especially those having international implications. He has written a book
and several papers on legal and economic issues.
Amir is a professional economist and teaches at various management
institutions.
