Nighat Yasmeen

The writer is a simple housewife with no extraordinary academic credentials, but refuses to be a passive spectator anymore. As Bush & Co. are fond of saying, “doing nothing is not an option” and hence these modest efforts to put across the burgeoning rage against the junta.

And to those who might be wondering about my intentions, let me solemnly assure them:

(i) I have absolute no affiliation, what to talk about spiritual/ideological attachment with any political/religious/sectarian/ethnic party or grouping.

(ii) I have no association with any government institution, semi-government organization or private sector.

(iii) Similarly nothing, absolutely nothing to do with any NGO.

(iv) I have no advisors, assistants, or mentors in any capacity or at any place.

(v) I have no financial incentives or economical stakes in undertaking this exercise. I have never ever received a single rupee for this to date.

(vi) Whatever and whenever I write, it has always been entirely on freelance basis, a purely altruistic effort on my own sans any personal interest and external help/advice.

(vii) My foremost and sole desire is to put across the feelings and thoughts of the so-called “silent majority”, to convey the talk of the average (and below average) households.
