A bachelors in Political Science and Journalism from Punjab University, these days working to improve my degree to get a better job.
When it comes to cataloging my life, I realize that, above all, Reading and Writing have been special passions for me. Writing, in particular, began initially as a catharsis but has now become an achievement.
Of the great writers of literature, the influence of some has been especially forceful : Pinter opens up a world of silence, where pauses matter more than words. Dostoevsky reveals the wonders of the human psyche and Marquez’s world is a maze of imagery and symbols, where solitude is besieged among butterflies and flowers. The nightlong ride with George and Martha, when Edward Albee makes us “Afraid of Virginia Woolf” is with me forever. As are Milan Kundera’s fantasies.
Inspired by such examples, I have been writing since I was ten and first got published when I was 13 and the process has continued ever since. I have written more non-fiction than fiction, perhaps because our education system promotes more analytical thinking then creativity. A regular blogger on several websites most of which have a good readership- in my writings, I tend to address socio-political issues mostly, because these seem most relevant to my own experience of life in Pakistan. And I believe that conveying one’s ideas through the print media is one of the most civilized ways of reacting and revolting against all the injustices one perceives.
I love an Indian (Mahatma Gandhi) and thats not an issue.
People are not enlightened and moderate enough -thats an issue!
"I may disagree with what you say but I will defend it to the death your right to say it."
Voltaire(That's a real man.)
This 18th centurey Frenchman was talking of Freedom of speech( yes- the one the Americans imagine they enjoy.)
"We have it in our powers to begin the World over again."~Thomas Paine
And this power is just a realization away. Your hope makes you human, your efforts make you successful and sucess makes u an acheiver.
